Suprised the Boyfriend
I tried to put it together to fast by myself. I did it find but have to double back tk put the backing on because I forgot. When I did the top separated from thr bottom. Luckily I didn't damage it and was still able to set it up before my boyfriend got home.
More DVD shelves
I already had 2 DVD shelves, but I needed more... this one is larger
Perfect for DVDs, books, and paperbacks, too!
The shelves are adjustable to accommodate a variety of book sizes. I especially like that the backboard of the system was pre-holed, so it was way easier to know where the nails go rather than having to guess.
It holds all my DVD's and blue rays with room left over.
Good bargain if you get it on sale
Took me little longer to put together than expected. Instructions not too clear, quality not the best but was a good thing I got it on sale and saved about $40 from the regular price. I'd did the job I was needing, looks good in my office
54" × 25" DVD Shelf
This wasn't too complicated to put together. It is good for the price
Pretty good product. Looks very nice and I love the adjustable shelves. It even comes with extra shelves and pegs. I will be surprised if it lasts through a move though.
Not what it used to be.
What I like about it: it holds a lot of media if you have a large collection at an affordable price! But, I'm sorry to report that this used to be a better product. This is the second unit I've bought of this model. The first one I bought years ago and was very happy with it, and I decided (years later) to buy another one to match my first. Same company, same shelving unit, and it was advertised the same as the first one (size, number of dvd's it can hold, etc). To my regret, after assembling the new unit, I discovered that they changed the size and thickness of the adjustable shelves. The adjustable shelves are now smaller and thinner than what they used to be. They are set back about an inch from the edge of the case, and my DVDs actually stick out (about an inch) beyond the adjustable shelf. My first shelf system had adjustable shelves that were thicker and were flush with the depth of the unit, and the DVDs fit completely on each shelf without sticking over the edge. Because these shelves are now smaller and thinner, they are actually somewhat unstable once you fill it with DVDs. I was pulling one DVD off a shelf, and the whole shelf flipped out and dumped all of the remaining DVDs onto the floor! That's crazy! Also, it looks stupid to have your entire DVD collection sticking out over the edges of the shelves. I'm disappointed that Atlantic has cut corners in this way. They changed what used to be a really solid shelving unit into a cheap, unstable shelving unit.
The quality of this shelf is pretty terrible. All the metal pieces that hold the top section of this shelf to the bottom shelf broke when I tried to turn them and attach them to their corresponding bolts.
Very poor quality, pressed board split when putting it together, not very sturdy for $115 I expected much better quality
DONT BUY THIS WASTE OF MONEY
This was a total waste of money! Where do I start? I bought this shelving unit to hold my old dvds and vhs tapes. I thought it was great looking, but boy was I wrong. The back paneling is not even lined up with itself and looks like cheap crap! The shelves are much smaller than advertised. The back panels came with a piece chipped off, and the wood (so they claim) was all kinds of chipped up and scuffed. Some of the materials were bent and broken as well. My $30 bookshelves were of MUCH higher quality!

I had the exact unit for 2 years and I just bought a second one because I have 700 movies. I thought I was buying a matching set but they changed the shelves to be half as deep a half as thick. Now I have 2 exactly similar units with very different shelves. The newer design shelves are way cheaper and barley big enough to the dvds, even caused me to drop a while shelves worth when pulling one movie out. the original design look better and functioned better. Cheap skates had the best shelving unit on the market then they went cheap.
Atlantic Makes A Great Product.
I like that the shelves are adjustable to accommodate different items. I have 3 units I picked up over 10 years ago and, while they're a little shorter and less wide, I love them. They have withstood several moves along with an out of state move and are holding up great. I am a movie "collector" with an exstensive library and these shelves look beautiful in my movie "library".
We have a lot of DVD's and wanted one unit to store all of them in. This unit worked well, until it came tumbling to the floor at 3am. I contacted Walmart, they said to contact the company. I contacted the company and they said to contact Walmart. I also contacted Paypal and they said to contact the company. I paid $170 for this shelf. Now it is firewood!
Decent not durable
This is a cute shelf that fit perfectly where i needed it. It was a pain for me to put together , certainly need two people. I also suggest turning it over to build it. Also I suggest attaching the back while it is on the floor in 2 pieces and then standing it up to attach as it comes easily apart. It's not made to move, so it's not going to make it if you do ever have to move just an fyi
The jury is still out on this.
The concept is good. Execution is spotty. Cheaper than normal hardware. Poorly machined. Two locking pieces were not threaded. Usually small bottle of glue is supplied with wood dowels. Bought 2 but have not assembled the second yet. Hope the first was an anomaly.

Decent storage unit for the price
So far so good. Assembly was okay. Instructions were skimpy, just take your time. Goes together in about an hour. Remember to keep the unfinished edges all facing the same way i.e. towards the back. Also remember your home baseboard may keep the shelves from sitting directly next to the wall. (I'm making a simple base for it to sit on to allow it to go flat against the wall.) I haven't loaded all the dvds on yet, but it looks like it will do the trick. It wouldn't be a good idea though, to try to move the unit around when it's fully loaded.
This went together easily enough. When we turned it over to nail the back into it the middle pulled apart. The locking apparatus pulled apart and I wound up getting some L brackets to hold it all together. I would not recommend this purchase. Looks nice but poorly made
Box arrived fine. A lot of pieces inside were somehow damaged though. Dings, dents, and cracked wood everywhere. Tape split in multiple places. Half the boards are warped. Cheap China setup. For $75 I was expecting it be better than their $34 junk version but I was wrong. Doesn't even stand straight because bottom board was warped too. Leans forwards. Doesn't hold near the amount it says it does. I have 6 shelves I can't even use. It's like they didn't even measure how tall DVD's were. Can't even submit my photos to show you all since there is such a tiny file size limit.
Great unit, be careful putting together!
It's a good sized piece with lots of room for games, dvds, cds, etc. it looks great and was designed to be put together easily. My one problem was these round fasteners that hold the top on and also holds the top section to the bottom section. The parts that came with mine broke into several pieces (each one, all 8) when I tried to turn them clockwise as instructed. I was careful to not apply to much torque, especially after the first couple broke. I believe the material used to make them was faulty, too brittle from the factory. A QC issue. I will use some carpenters glue and screws to fix the issue properly. Just a heads-up for anyone else that buys these. Have some wood glue handy just in case and you should be fine.
