Phenomenal Value!

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this based on the reviews indicating that the conversion kit to a 2" hitch was inadequate and that, as a consequence, the carrier would swivel too much. I don't know what kit those reviewers got and/or if the kit has been improved but I experienced none of those problems. The conversion kit I got has a bolt, washer and nut and once the whole contraption is tightened it is SOLID! Now on to the functionality of the actual carrier. The system for holding the bike the wheel (and not the frame) is brilliant. Easy to load and unload and it looks good on my car. Highly recommend this product especially at this unbeatable price (compare to Thule and/or Yakima and see what I am talking about).

Poor design puts bike wheels in line with exhaust.

The design of the rack places the wheels in direct line with vehicles having a rear pointing exhaust. We did not realize this and after 1 hour of travel my daughter found that the rear derailer of her bike was melted off. Considering the cost of the bike and the cost to fix it. We ended up donating the bike to a charity and now in the market for a new bike rack and bike.

    good

I purchased this because after ordering a bike I realized that I needed to get it home. After putting it together initially took a little time but after assembly it takes about five minutes to remove bike take the hitch apart and put away inside the vehicle only 3 pieces. Very fast reinstall and put away, great carrier for one or two bikes.

    Fantastic

This rack does everything I was looking for - light weight, but strong; quick on and off, both rack and bike; great value. I am only using it for one adult large woman's bike. I works great. Love it.

    Single Guy

I need to haul several different bikes, depending on the ride, this is the perfect carrying unit to accomplish the task, Easy to assembly and very protective of the bike. I have a 2” hitch so I just had the adaptors from 1 ¼” welding in place, makes hook up and release very easy and keeps it very steady. When I have a riding companion easy to add for second bike. It was shipped to my home with no freight cost, don't know how they do that, buy happy they do. CaptBob

Great Bike Rack for Cruiser Bikes

I bought this rack because I was looking for a bike rack for my 2011 Tuscon that has a 1 1/4 hitch that was already included with my car, and that could hold two cruiser bikes without any other modifications due to the unique frame a cruiser bike has. Both bikes fit perfectly without touching the Tuscon. The bike rack has a strong steel frame and is very heavy duty. Only complaint I have is that it does not fold so you can access the trunk of your car. One would have to disassemble the top two piece of the mount in order to access the trunk.

Good bike rack for the price.

Works well and the bikes are fairly easy to place on the brackets. I have not driven with 2 bikes on it yet. Seems sturdy while driving as I have not heard any noises coming from it. The one dislike is that you can not place the brackets on opposite sides without having to skip a hole. The tightening knob will hit the brackets on the opposite side preventing it from being properly tightened. If you place a bike on the inner brackets you will not be able to open the car trunk; also, wish that the stem that goes into the hitch would fold in for easier storage even though I am able to store this bike carrier in my trunk. Overall the carrier is lightweight, easy to assemble,(had to make some holes slightly bigger), sits low and does not hi...

Perfect bike carrier for Jeeps with 35" spare tire

Car: 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 35" spare tire mounted on the back via an aftermarket bumper and tire carrier. Bike: 2017 intense recluse. Issues I've had: The bike frame geometry would not allow for a bike carrier that has two bars that you can "hang" the bike on (e.g. Thule helium aero 2 for $350) My spare tire would stick out too far and most bike carriers would not clear it without an additional hitch-extension. I also couldn't open the tailgate, because the spare tire and tailgate wouldn't clear the bike carrier. I've looked into all top notch carrier brands incl. Thule, Yakima, Kuat and even ISI (Australian) priced anywhere between $350-$800. I also looked into swing-away carriers and platform bike carriers to solve th...

    Perfect for casual use

Though this isn't the most robust rack on the market, it's fantastic for the price. If you occasionally haul your bikes to the park or the beach, this is ideal. If you need something for regular use, I'd invest in a more robust rack from Thule or Yakima. Pros: - It's small, light and easily disassembles to take up practically no space - I love the concept of attaching at the wheels rather than the bike's crossbar - Attaching your bike is fast and easy Cons: - Doesn't fold down like more expensive racks, so you'll have to remove it to open your car's rear hatch - As others have said, the included 1-1/4" to 2" is unstable and annoying to attach (it's two pieces of metal that are awkward to shim into your receiver hole), so plan on buying yo...

    Works very well

If I didn't use it on a Rav4 with a spare tire carrier hanging off the back hatch, I would rate it 5 stars. The inside bike is difficult to mount & dismount as there's very little room. Using the outside mount is a snap. If there were 2 inches more to with on the inside one, it would make all the difference. Wish they (or anyone) would make a 2" extension.

    Summer time travel fun

Was in the market for a simple solution to carry our bikes this summer with us. Seen many designs and spoke with actual individuals who had trailer hitch mount bike racks Found the Reese model very easy to assemble and as well as practical.

    On the road again........

I just received this so I haven't actually been on the road yet. So I will tell you what I know. First off I am not a wizard when it comes to putting things together. I probably spend a half hour getting it put together. Most people would do it in 10 minutes or less. It seems to be solid and well designed. I placed the carrier into the hitch with no issues. My adult bike fit onto the wing easily. It has good padding where the wheels sit and also on the wings. There was also a package of velcro included but it wasn't on the parts list. I assume that it is to be used to further secure the bike while traveling. Unless something totally unexpected comes up I am pleased with the product and the price.

    Decent bike rack

Takes about 10 minutes to assemble. The main beam is a little short, have to be extremely careful placing inboard bike on the rack to avoid damaging your vehicle. I would recommend using a receiver extension (I made a 4" extension works great). Other than that works great. Can't beat the price. I have the 1 1/2" receiver so I can't say how well the 2" adapter works. It's a no frills bike rack that gets the job done.

Received an older verson of this Resses bike rack

When we went to pick up our bike rack, the Walmart employees gave us a older model of this Reese bike rack. Ours doesn't swing down like the picture shows. Either way it is a little tricky to load the inside bike, and if the bike has fenders it's even more of a challenge to get the rubber straps across the tire. and locked in place. With the bikes in place it's even more "fun" trying to get the Velcro tie downs wrapped around the bike frames and the bike rack arm. Other than that it's a good solid bike rack. Bikes don't shake around while traveling.

    Ease of use.

Takes some practice in mounting the inside Bike. You will need two people. Rides very secure. The 2" adaptor should have a means to keep it intact with the main beam for ease in installation.

Great Carrier - Easy to assemble

I bought this bike carrier after looking at many (probably too many) types from high end bike store stuff (overpriced name bands with no better functionality than this) to Craigslist (used prices were almost the same as this was new - no brainer there!). The reviews drew me to this Reese and I'm very pleased at first glance. It was easy to put together and get on the car. One reviewer said something about having to get a longer bolt to use the 2" receiver adapter, but it's short for a reason - it goes THROUGH the hole on the side of the receiver and the adapter STOPS it - the action is to squeeze the adapters around the mount with a washer and locking nut on the other side. This is what keeps it from slopping around in the receiver. It wor...

    Perfect Solution

We've owned a number of different hitch mount bike racks in the past. With the different geometries of bikes for kids, women, men combined with road and mountain bikes it's been difficult to get them on traditional racks. This "sportwing" approach seemed like the exact solution - using the one thing that all of these different bikes have in common - wheels! My wife's bike has a top-tube that won't work well with traditional bike racks. Her bike fits perfectly on this rack. It's possible to put on wheel up first, then the other, making the rack easier to use. Her vehicle has 1-1/4" receiver and this rack is super easy and simple to install. The adapter for 2" is a little less than ideal but certainly workable. She uses the rack all of the ti...

    Great Product

Ordered this online for in store pickup. It was there within a couple of hours. I actually happened to be in the store when I received a text that it was ready for pickup. This rack is sold under differant brand names on the internet and sells for more than twice what I paid for it at Walmart. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Exactly what I was looking for.

    Nice Carrier

After looking at various models of bike carriers I decided that this one was the best for my application. My wife and I have Schwinn 700C bikes. Her's is a ladies and mine is a men's. Other carriers supported the bikes by the frame, which made all of the one's that I looked at unusable. The V shape of this carrier and the cradles for the wheels is the perfect combination for us. The carrier was easily assembled and the Walmart pricing was a plus.
