I'm very happy with this purchase. Great bang for the buck. I use a 16gb class 4 sd card and it works well. the software says it will accept a 32 gb card so i will be ordering one of those as well.
the software was a little confusing at first, because you have to "import" the files before opening them in the software. however, you can tag pictures of interest so you don't have to play through them all again and can jump to the tagged spots.
i wish it kicked on a little earlier in the morning hours, however it continues to take pictures until dark. it kicks on about 7:20 in the morning, but it actually gets daylight around 7:00. I think this is the only drawback and the reason i only gave it 4 stars. this camera only costs half what more expensive ones cost.
it took about 62,000 pictures in 8 days on a set of regular rayovac batteries at the 5 second interval. with daylight hours of 7am to 6pm it takes up about 2 gb on the sd card.
i ordered a 6v primos steroid battery to try with it as well. for the price i would recommend this camera.
I have only been able to retrieve a maximum of 2 consecutive days of pictures from this camera. Each time that I have checked it, it was after leaving it set up for about 1 week, with the camera set at the longest interval between pictures available. I do not know if the batteries ran out after 1-2 days of shooting pictures, or if the camera has been malfunctioning. The disk that came with the camera, from which I should have been able to download the viewing program, was not readable, but I was able to to download it from Primos' web site. Also, unless an animal is within the normal range of other game cameras, you cannot tell what it is, since the scene becomes distorted with the least bit of magnification. This could be a good tool, but the inconsistency, high battery usage, and inabilty to see very far down range makes me wish that I had purchased another, "typical", game camera.
