As far as the contents of this computer, it is great. The reason I give it one star is due to the poor design of the screen. Opening and closing this computer, no matter how gentle, when the warranty runs out, the top half of the computer/screen falls off. The plastic that surrounds the screen at the bottom breaks off, the hinges is cheap plastic and soon the whole thing breaks only staying connected by two wires. Even though this is a defect in the design, after warranty, Dell will not fix. Because of this, I will never buy another Dell. I bought this computer for my daughter for HS and to use in college. I felt if I spent more, it could be used for this purpose. The cost to fix it is the same as buying another computer. I own a Dell desk top that after 10 years still works, A Dell Inspiron 6000 which is probably close to 10 years too...it is made out of aluminum and constructed well (only defect is the connection to charge the battery to the computer that I have replaced once and have to do again--meaning a new motherboard), unlike this piece of plastic garbage that didn't last over 3 years. I am ready to purchase another computer for myself and it won't be a Dell--I want a quality product with great customer service, is there such a thing? As far as my daughter's computer, it works great and it is a shame that the construction didn't last over 3 years...what good is it if it no longer has a screen. You will be impressed with this laptop until after a few years the top half/screen will fall off leaving you without a unusable laptop. Very disappointed with the quality and customer service...can never understand most of the words they say--they are always polite though.
