I knew it was particle board, which is OK. But when I empty the contents of the box and find that a piece of cardboard (like cereal box cardboard, but maybe an 1/8" thick), is part of the assembly; well, I've never seen that. Then I look at the top surface and its got a dime-sized divet in it. No big deal, the dent was toward the back and wouldn't be noticeable. So I go through the parts list and my bad luck, one of 8 metal dowels was missing. Instead of 8 metal dowels, got 7 and a similar-sized metal burr. Turned out to be one of 8 dowels that are used to attach the legs. The dowel is a unique fastener that fits into a cam lock. I probably don't have a spare in the junk drawer and I'm not waiting for a replacement. So between the divet, the metal burr, and cardboard component, I'm done. Didn't assemble it, so I don't know how sturdy or flimsy it is. Got everything back in the box (including the metal burr), wrapped it in the original plastic and corner guards and taped it up. Took it back to WalMart. Waited a few minutes for the friendly employee to make the refund and was out the door with my money. Good job WalMart!
