I am a novice paddler and do not have anything to compare this to, but it does everything I expected and at a good price. It is not too heavy, seems to move me along at a reasonable pace and survives the abuse of young girls. Paddles are expensive and this one is pretty reasonable at $30. Lifetime products have been very high quality for me in the past, so I have every reason to believe that this will last as well. I would buy this again.
I have owned this paddle for a couple of years now. I make inuit paddles for myself, but I needed paddles for the kids. Of course, anyone with children knows that the little darlings are not gentle with anything, especially a paddle which can be swung about as a club, used as a crowbar, or even a shovel for clam digging. Never mind that we live in Colorado; nearly 1500 miles from the closest clam bed. The paddle shaft is made from lightweight aluminum. It has detents so you can switch from straight blade to feathered blade configurations. The blades are semi-flexible plastic. Riveted in two places and ribbed for strength, they have curved leading edges to facilitate light sculling. My paddle did not come with drip rings or foam filling like the model pictured so this updated version is an even better value. In summary, the Lifetime Adult Paddle is a great paddle for a very good price.
The paddles match the description and the shipping was quick. As for the quality or suitability, I can not say quite as I have not put them in the water yet.
