I considered a john deere, craftsman, and power boss before settling on the generac. I wanted one with adjustable pressure so that ruled out most except generac. love the long spray wand w/side handle. like the quick change tips and ease of hookup with hose hookups out front.
Our division needed a pressure washer that was built tough and could have enough pressure to remove staining from concrete in our parking garages. After researching the best prices for the required needs, we decided on the Generac 400 psi pressure washer. The setup was easy and had it going to work in 20 minutes. It has nice features like the side handle for the gun and a nice ergonomic grip.Knowing the dependability of a Generac motor it was a no brainer. It is exactly what we needed!
I spent a lot of time reviewing power washers, even rented a couple before settling on the Generac. The unit itself is a very strong performer and very simple to use. For the price it can’t be beat! Spent the weekend power washing the house and deck and am very pleased with the overall performance of the unit.
Make sure you go through and tighten all the hardware before using, especially the exhaust shield.
Used the pressure washer for the first time today. Plenty of power which translates to shorter time on the job so I would have to say that this pressure washer is pretty near worth the money. I only have a couple of grips which were easy to address but I believe that in order for this machine to be world class should be addressed by the manufacturer.
There was not enough oil supplied to fill the machine. The owners manual states this machine, (4000psi model) takes 37 ounces of oil. The manufacturer supplied 1 quart, 32 ounces. I had extra oil which I used but it would have been nice to have enough oil supplied with my purchase.
The wand lance is simply too long for my height of 5' 11" and makes the wand uncomfortable to use as you are holding the wand up next to your chest while squeezing the valve. Not ergonomic from my average height perspective.
The only other grip I have is Generac recommends you add fuel preservative and a pump additive for winter storage for pump damage prevention in case of a freeze potential. So why don't they provide the product to make sure the machine works for the next 5 to 10 years? Perhaps I'm being a bit picky here but for $900 I really don't think so.
Still impressed with the machine though and would definitely buy another and or recommend it to others.
