I have been a Hoover WindTunnel fan forever. It has always been the vacuum I have gone to. I was in need of a new vacuum so I asked for a new WindTunnel for Christmas last year. What I got was this blue abomination. Yes, it still sucks up the dirt into a bag, but I hate pretty much everything else about it. 1.) This new model has a hose that clicks into place, and that same hose whips you in the face upon release if you are not careful. Plus the latch is wearing out after a year, because I use my hose with attachments to dust and clean crevices and such. 2.) They skimped on the tubes, giving a skinny little attachment. (which when I complained they sent me the extender. Not an improvement.) 3.) The bag sometimes gets stuck when trying to slide it into the new hands-free release holder, and it is not truly a hands-free experience because the new design often creates a collection of dirt in the top of the bag, rather than allowing it to collect in the bottom. Several times I have thought the bag was full because of loss of suction. However, when I opened the bag compartment I noticed that it was simply a displacement of collection. Whatever was being sucked up was sitting in the top half. 4.) They designed the roller of this model to keep spinning when the vacuum is in the upright position. If you are going to use the hose, you need to step the switch to stop it so that the roller does not kick up dirt/hair/debris into the air. I can't think of one reason that the roller would need to continue spinning while in the upright position, but there you have it: an extra step. After so many years of not having to do this, I often forget to manually stop the roller. Such a pain. 5.) The brush attachment now has stiff bristles and a huge opening. There are hardly any bristles on it to consider it a brush. I used to use the brush to dust more delicate items and can no longer do that with the current design. I get why they might want a bigger opening, but the bristles are not working for me.
