I really like this counter top. oven. It fits a 12+" pizza, 2 shelves, rotisserie, and 2 pans. It has a wire insert for one of the pans for meat draining. It is not super heavy. It is stainless, so I bought stainless Polish. The thing I like the best is the constant on button. I turn to left and let Preheat and cook as long as I want. Some others will only allow 90 minutes of cooking. You can leave this one without a timer that shuts it off when it wants. It has a pull out crumb self that I line with aluminum foil. I also put some on back too. I am over protective to keep clean.
Just what I've been looking for!!!
Covenientional rotisserie oven combo!! Loving it thus far. My first very rotisserie chicken came out juicy and delicious.
Better than I though it would be
The electronic component on my old gas stove went out and is no longer available. Since the top burners still work I opted not to replace the old girl. Instead I purchased the HB Oven. The addition of the convection and rotisserie features that the HB countertop offered vs a conventional replacement stove were the strong selling points for me. The large capacity means I can bake everything short of a complete Thanksgiving dinner in the unit. The rotisserie alone is worth the price. I purchase a 4.5Lb. chicken and seasoned the bird with what I had in my spice drawer, Grill Mate Hamberger rub. I placed the bird on the skewer, balanced as best I could, and tied sting around the legs and wings. The included skewer installation tool made placing the bird in a preheated oven a breeze. I did some chores around the house as the time passed. The wonderful aroma of the upcoming meal began to fill the air. I use a meat thermometer and at around the 3 hour mark the bird was at 150 degrees. I continued my chores and at the 4 hr mark you could tell it was done. The bird which started out with the skewer tines firmly in the meat was not bouncing around slightly. Removing the chicken to a platter was easy with the included skewer tool. After the bird rested for a few minutes I couldn't resist giving it a taste. I have never cooked such a flavorful chicken in my life. The meat just fell off the bones. It was crisp on the outside while tender and juicy as only rotisserie broiling can provide. In the month that I've had the oven I have baked muffins, cookies, and pies to perfection using both the baking and convection options. If I would have known the product worked this well I would have purchase one years ago. If for whatever reason it quit today I would buy another one just like it tomorrow.
Exactly what I needed!
I live in a small apartment and there was no room for a full size range/stove. So, I got a two burner cook top and this toaster oven. The oven is hugh! I have baked a cake, pie, cookies, pizza, etc. You name it I've made it. The Rotisser is an added feature. I made a turkey breast, no spices added, and it came out delicious. This is well worth the price I paid, and with the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays approaching, it will allow me to bake pies and casseroles for my dinners. So if you're in the market for an additional oven, or if this would be your only oven, in my experience, it's well worth the purchase.
So far so good! This is an excellent table oven/rotessierie. I've only owned this over a month and used maybe 10 times and no issues so far. I love the rotessierie feature which i used twice to cook a 5lb prime rib and product came out perfect. Unit works as advertised and just hoping it will last as long as my old Hamilton which i owned for over 15 years and only replaced by this one because of a broken handle on cover. Unit arrived with minor cosmetic issue but for the price I paid its still worth it.
Nice looking, not as good performance.
Oven gets VERY HOT outside, much more than my prior Calphalon. Thinner metal, parts, rack, pan, very cheap as well. Scratches easily on finish. Main issue is after trying to bake something at 400 degrees, and broil something at 500, it seemed like it wasn't getting hot enough. So I purchased a thermometor to help me figure that out, BINGO! No matter what temp you put it at, for baking, convection, or broil, 375 is the hottest it will get. So, for those of us trying for a higher temp, at least the one I received will not acheive this. Other than that, it seems to be a good overall piece, you may be luckier than I with a hotter one, however again, this unit gets very hot on the outside of all surfaces, so put it in an area that has plenty of room for this heat.
this is the noisiest oven i have ever purchased this is my 3rd unit in about 10 years my other 2 where great they dont last forever but they work great trying to order another oven but seem to be back ordered over the last 3 weeks it seems they all have same issue according to some reviews i have read i am having to by a cheaper unit just to have we use these ovens alot need to return before set date expires will try again in the future
Inconsistent temperature - ineffective convection
I decided to buy a Hamiltion Beach large capacity countertop convection oven with rotisserie function because I thought it would be convenient for baking small cake and the convection design would improve the quality of baking goods, and save energy. However, the oven had many problems. First, the temperature was inconsistent. I used an oven thermometer to measure the temperature. At my first try, I set the temperature at 350 degrees and set the preheat time for 10 minutes as indicated in the manual. The temperature reached 350 degrees. Then. I set the baking time for 40 minutes but the temperature decreased to 350 degrees. I turned the nob to 400 degrees, but the temperature only reached 350. I tried the oven several times, but the temperature appeared to be 50 degrees lower than the set temperature. Another problem was with baking cake: the top of the cake was goden brown, which was good, but the bottom did not turn to golden brown like the top even when I placed the baking tray at the lowest rack. Moreover, the convection appeared to be ineffective. The air flow was too weak to make any difference. I baked two cakes without and with the convection option, but the baking times and the cake quality were exactly the same. The price of this product was great ($80), but this great price did not go with good quality. So, I decided to return the product.
Avoid at all cost---though A+ rating for Walmart
My experience with Walmart was excellent from the start---their impressive web page and near- instant response to ALL questions and the delivery to my door! Walmart responded via email within 24 hours at least FIVE times. This . . . was NOT the problem. I tried baking and broiling in the new oven, a disaster with both. Potatoes exploded, my broiled ribeye steak was black on the edges and tough as leather to chew! I've baked potatoes exactly the SAME WAY for fifty years---NEVER had one explode--- and what a mess!?!?!?! Cleaning the oven inside and out is a total nightmare---its material is NOT cleanable! A rod on both racks broke loose at one end after ONE bake and ONE broil !!!! This thing is so fragile! My normal oven is like new after fifteen years! What a terrible product!
I purchased this convection oven after reading many positive reviews from satisfied customers. While doing the initial "bake out" per the manual, the convection fan started rattling terribly after a few minutes heating. I immediately called the customer service line and was informed this is normal. The lady said she could hear it over the phone and nothing to worry about., and proceeded to inform me how a convection oven works. I replied that this is the third convection oven I've owned and am well aware of how they work. She then said if you're not satisfied, return i to the store. So this is the last of these I'll purchase
Best thing I have ever bought for my kitchen!
As a cook book author I can testify that I am just a bit picky about my kitchen appliances! My oven went out on 2 year old stove. Being handy, I researched getting the parts necessary to repair and they ended up being almost 1/2 of the orignal cost of the stove!! It is now a needed storage unit. This product is beautiful. I was able to place my Microwave over the top of it to save counter space (I cut 4 pieces of 2" PVC pipe... sparay painted them flat black and used them as height extenders underneath the microwave allowing for air flow over the top of the oven). The choice of regular baking or the convection is incredible! Have never used convection before and all I say is that I am now a believer. The option of up to a 2 hour timer plus the rotisiery cinched the deal over the similar Oster unit. Buy it and be happy!
Simple but I expects this will last
I bought the black cover version of this from Target about 2 months ago and was able to return it after the fan for the convection cooking started rattling. Picked this model from Wal-mart.com for the same price as what Target stores are selling on a temporary price-reduction. I chose this model because I shopped among store displays for a counter-top convection oven with a large enough interior to put a large Visionware covered saucepan, or a small dutch oven. It's ridiculous that all the manufacturer provide for product description is exterior dimensions. This model is simple but it's interior dimensions is over 7" tall and 13.5" wide. Depth is more than enough for a 12" pizza. It has all the disadvantage of a compact countertop oven; no more, no less. It has no digital displays and no digital controls that I can discern, so there's no digital electronics that can get fried by high heat. A nice bonus for the $10 over the black model is the larger handle that minimise the change you will burn your fingers when you pull the cover while it's baking. As someone who tries to fix small appliances before throwing them out, the simple Phillips screws holding the covers down wins me over. I'm cluttering my home with a Delonghi Rotisserie Convection Oven that I cannot disassemble because I have yet to find a tool to remove the 4 recessed Secured TORX screws in its 4 plastic legs so I can remove the cover and get at a suspected blown fuse! Hate product designs that inhibit self-service.
Temperature very inaccurate!
I bought this hoping that it would be a decent quality product, as I usually like Hamilton Beach , BUT it is only good at making toast! Baking was a waste of time & money, as the temp. is not consistent and some food was not cooked correctly, thus thrown out. (Can't re-bake raw brownies.) My meat thermometer is showing a drastically different temp. of cooked food. Also, the temp. knob is very sloppy and loose. Now I have to return it to the store, wasting time as well. Very disappointing!
31103 and 31105 Early Nov 2016
Model 31103. Purchased 11/1/16 (about). Loved the stainless looks and the accuracy of the thermostat (when measured with oven thermometer it was dead on-very impressive). When setting timer you turn past 40 and then back to desired time. When turning back it was VERY hard to turn and on second use a small piece of metal fell out of timer area and after that the timer would not work. Returned to store. Then ordered a 31105(better knob style then the 31103). The thermostat on the 31105 is off by 25-50 degrees depending on the temp setting(set at 400 it is actully 450 degrees inside. I will probably return this one as well as my wife does not want to do extra math everytime she cooks. I may try another 31103 to see if my first one was just a lemon but Walmart raised their price about 35% over the last 10 days.
I received this item dirty. It looked like it had been used by someone else and they had brought it back. The metal finish was scratched and marked. Very disappointing. I returned the item. I do a lot of on-line ordering and this was the worst experience I have had to date.
So far, so good
This was bought to replace my large oven, which died, until I can afford a new one. I was surprised to see the Hamilton Beach name again, which I thought was long gone, and that it got good reviews. I much prefer the commercial/pro-kitchen design of this to the other toaster ovens on the market. For me, it was between this and the Cuisinart toaster oven, and I liked the basic (non-digital) controls, as well as the fact that you get 2 racks and broiling pan that acts like a rack and slides into the rack slots. I think it's cheap that many of the toaster ovens give you just one rack and try to get you to buy another one, as well as accessories. This one also has a rotisserie for those who cook meat; I don't, but it's nice that this extra was included for those who do. In fairness, I haven't used it a ton of times, but it's done a good job on pizza. I probably will use this mainly for pizza and possibly for broiling shrimp or baking potatoes, as well as cookies and muffins; basically, things I wouldn't want to do in the microwave. You have to be careful not to either place the top rack too high or the temp too high; it overly browned tortillas I was toasting and Brussels sprouts I cooked in a baking dish. I would probably put these in the center rather than at the top. I don't really care for the way you set the timer on it, which is to turn the knob past :40 and then turn it back to the time you want, but then, I didn't want a digital panel for my settings. I think this is on the larger side re: capacity for toaster ovens, but that being said, it's still a tiny space compared to a full-size oven, and you need to be careful putting things into it or taking them out when it's hot. I don't like that the door is just a simple hinge that you have to manually lower gently it until it touches the counter, otherwise it would just fall and slam onto the counter. This made me nervous, as I've read about the glass on different toaster-oven doors shattering. But I don't know if other toaster ovens open any differently. I like that this has a variety of settings, like bake, broil, and convection. And the "ding" that tells you the timer's shutting off is pleasant; I've read reviews about others that make people jump out of their chairs. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.
i got nervous when i read some of the reviews on this product but honestly i think most of the issues are user error not the product its self i love love love this oven its perfect for me and my family yes there is a slight heat variation but a oven thermometer solved that issue and its is a bit larger than the specs say it is and the stainless gets gross soooooooooo fast but otherwise its an amazing appliance for the price
Did not cook as stated
Took 20 min. to cook a Tombstone pizza and still needed more time. Tried to cook a chicken using the rotisserie the forks that hold the chicken on the rotisserie shaft were not wide enough to hold the bird letting it wobble had to cook the bird in my oven. I am returning this oven
Got this to replace my 7 year old oven toaster, the top tubes dont lit up anymore :( So after too many choices and comparing features and considerations, I finally picked this one. This is only less than an inch taller than my old one but the rest of the dimensions are the same, but more room inside for bigger pans, yes plural, because I can bake 2 at the same time and rottisserie is an added bonus, but I may not use it, I dont want the inside to get dirty. I basically do a lot of baking and didnt want to heat up the house specially during summer. I checked the temerature using my oven thermometer and they are right, and it takes 20 minutes to reach the temerature I set it up at, I want to make sure if I am baking cakes, but other than cakes, 5 minutes preheating is fine. This is one of the most important items in my kitchen and I love love it.
I bought this for my Daughter because her stove's oven did not work. She has used it several times and absolutely loves it. The only downside is it says it will hold a 9 x 13 pan but that is if it has not side extensions. My daughter was using a 9 x 13 cake pan that had a small lip on each side and it would not fit. It bakes evenly and completely. Would highly recommend this item.
