Prior to the purchase of this monitor, my old monitor was a 4:3 aspect model, so it didn't take long to appreciate the new look of the 16:9 aspect and brillant color and resolution of this monitor. I was pleased with the no hassle plug and play feature without the need to upload any new drivers. It will auto adjust to your PC without any action on your part. It's easy to view two documents on the wide panoramic screen. In fact the only beef I had with this monitor was with the power button. It took me awhile to locate it due to it's obscure configuration and location. The manual does not describe or direct where it is located. The power symbol is so tiny that I was not sure I had found it untill it illuminated on activation. However, this sure doesn't detract from the fine performance of this monitor.
I was using a 26" Vizio LED HDTV for my previous monitor. It wasn't 1080p so I wasn't entirely happy with it. So I was searching around for LED Monitors. I saw this Acer, and the price. I figured I would give it a try. Boy was I satisfied. It has a beautiful screen, and it's unbelievably bright. I plan on purchasing another one for my other desktop.
This is truly a great monitor. The only complaint I have is that they do not tell you were the power button is!! It's a clear plastic horizontal strip beneath the word ACER (on the bottom towards the center of the monitor itself). It's not in the manual nor on it's diagram.
It runs great so far. I have no problem using it with my macbook pro. As soon as I connected it to my macbook, it started working perfectly. I can use both my macbook screen and the monitor. Having two screens makes my work much easier. The use of button control on the monitor is not straight forward but not too hard to figure out.
