Great for the price!!!
Just bought this TV, me and my wife are very happy with the APPs and all the features the picture and sound are great! but not Excellent!!!! The Remote could be better. Overall I think is a great TV easy to set up and for less than 600 usd, you cant go wrong. Vizio has great products and great customer service. Would strongly recommend it.
Best TV in this price range, hands down!
I was looking for a substantial upgrade to my previous TV, but didn't want to spend too much. My budget was around $500-$600 and I knew what features I was looking for. I consider myself pretty up-to-date and knowledgeable on flat screen TV's, so when I came across this Vizio, I was very impressed. Here's what I love about the TV: -Full 1080 HD picture that looks amazing with some fine tuning. -GREAT sound (Considering most LCD TV's at this price have very poor sound) -120 Hz refresh rate (Almost every other LCD at this price is only 60 Hz) -Wifi enabled with apps (Again, most LCD's at this price WILL NOT have wifi) -Easy to install and use Here's what could be better: -Remote (small buttons and hard to see in dim lighting) -The TV's overall shape and size is a little bulky and thick for my tatse The pros certainly outweigh the cons, and I highly recommend this LCD for someone who's looking for a excellent TV at an affordable price. I gave this 5 stars because you just won't find another TV at this price with all the features this one comes with. Vizio has established itself as a strong competitor in the TV world, and in my book, offers high-quality, outstanding products.
Terrific TV for the Price!
I love this HDTV! The picture is beautiful. My 9-yr-old grandson said so too. Easy setup. Operates like a breeze. Still getting acquainted with the Internet Apps. There are a multitude available which was one of the pluses that made me want this VIZIO TV. Before buying, I saw several reviews saying they had a problem with the remote. I personally have had no problems with it. I used site to store shipping for the 1st time. It was fast & the store associates working at my local store & the shift around 9pm when I picked it up were super helpful & extremely friendly.

Great T.V. at a Great Price!
After much research and comparison shopping, we decided on this Vizio E422VA. It was very easy to set up (and we are not tech savvy!). We are first time flat-screen and HDTV owners and the picture on this t.v. is beautiful. Looks amazing in our family room. Even the sound quality is good (speakers are on the front which makes a difference, I think). Lots of great features and functionality. Can't say much about the internet apps - that was just an added bonus - really just bought it to watch t.v. Suits our purposes fine - good quality.
Hey, it's a TV!
This was my first new TV in 17 years! I was so excited about getting this new Vizio that my son in law picked out. We picked it up at the store, hooked it up and it didn't work. Called customer service and still couldn't get it to work. It was also missing the screws to the base. I had to wait several weeks for them to ship me out another TV. This TV is working nicely. The picture is nice. People have been complaining about the remote. I didn't like it either. The buttons are too small. I use the cable remote. I don't use the WIFI, but my kids do and they love it! It's like having a huge monitor. So things didn't go so well at first but the company did replace the TV and were very professional and helpful. It's a good TV for the price.
My son broke my big screen tv floor model so i had to get a replacement. I have been looking online at walmart and they had a few good deals but i needed it that day so I went to the store and looked at all the tvs and they didnt have the one I wanted so i was going to leave but I saw this. Reasonable price so i bought it. It took just a couple of minutes to set it up and the picture was nice. In a matter of a couple of minute the screen froze up and became hard to see. I dont know if it was the tv or cable. it happened again a little later but it is something i will keep an eye on. I hope its not the tv. Overall Easy to use and set up with great picture, good sound, what else do you need from the tv.
First flat screen tv
I did not know alot about flat screens, so I did some online research before shopping. I found the price of the Vizio to be average, and spoke with some Vizio owners who all said it was a good tv. I went ahead and purchased the Vizio with the internet capability, not really knowing the benefits, but wanting the latest tech. I'm not sure about the picture quality. In the store it seemed just as clear as the other brands, however, it could be the settings I'm not quite sure about how to optimize. Movement on screen seems to be blurred, not as detailed as I would like. The internet aps are not all what they seem. The tv seems slow to respond. I was a little disappointed that the 42" did not come with the slide out keyboard remote, so it's a chore to enter info in on screen with the remote. Overall, it is an attractive tv, and tied in with my Sony surround sound (also from Wally World), is enjoyable to watch. Sure is a benefit to have it hanging on the wall and less clutter in the room compared to our last 250lb tv. For the price, I am satisfied so far, and would recommend it for any budget minded buyers.
I purchased this TV because I thought Vizio was a quality product. I have had nothing but trouble with this TV. The picture goes out for no reason. It will come back on after I turn off the TV and then turn it back on. The sound has been a continuous problem. Sound goes in and out. I've called Vizio customer service and they have been to my house 3 times to repair and the TV is still not working properly. The frustrating thing is most times I call for repair, it takes the company a week to come to my house to repair. Therefore I have to go weeks without my TV. Not very happy with the product nor the customer service. I just want a new TV.
The unit has a great picture but the Internet application is poor. Netflix and Amazon Video won't connect to the internet. After several hours with Vizio technical support they said to return the unit. This seems to be a more common problem than they want to admit. Also the remote is poorly made and hard to use especially with the internet applications.
Great picture but....
The main reason why I chose this tv over all the others was the VIA or Vizio Internet Apps. Set up was easy and quick and the picture was GREAT, however the Netflix and Amazon Video On-Demand DID NOT WORK, Amazon just would not load and Netflix could not play any shows or movies the images appeared pixelated without sound. The Netflix App was actually the main reason why I chose this tv, I called Netflix and a technician gladly helped, he came to the conclusion that the issue was with Vizio (I was not having any issues with other Netflix ready devices) and gave me a number to call. I talked to two Vizio technicians and they basically told me they did not know what was causing the problem they told me it could be a number of different things. I googled to see what I could do and it turns out that this model has that issue a lot, it seems like the bigger and bulkier the tv the more issues with the wifi it has. That being said the picture was GREAT, my boyfriend played 2K11 and it looked amazing, then we watched The Hangover and that looked great too. It had a total of 4 HDMI connections plus composite, component, and RGB. So the TV aspect works very well the size and picture are amazing. This particular model did not have some of the volume issues reported with the other models. The remote was too bulky, but overall it worked. If you are not too crazy about streaming on demand directly to your TV, then this TV is a great buy for you, but if you are hoping to buy a TV that can Instant stream be weary of this model. The price is only an issue because the apps don't work properly.

We had been researching TV's for a long time before making this purchase. This by far has been the best decision ever. Wonderful picture, sound, quality! I highly recommed the TV, this has made our family so very happy. Best Christmas present ever. Hope this has been helpful.
I finally got rid of my TV from 2002 and got something a little more contemporary. I don't have cable so I wanted something that I could use to watch Netflix. I opted for this TV because it was the largest one I could get into my entertainment center. THE APPS MAKE THIS TV FANTASTIC! I wasn't overzealous to get this TV set up so it sat in the box in my living room for 2 days. Set up was simple. Since I don't have cable, I simply got the wi-fi set up and decided to browse the apps. The apps that come pre-installed did nothing for me emotionally and I was a little disappointed.... until I found there are 26 pages of apps to choose from. I removed the pre-loaded ones, installed the ones that interested me, and now I am thrilled with this TV. Netflix and Pandora make me happy and they're both on my apps screen. One quick note.... I believe that the factory default for picture size is NOT widescreen. You'll have black borders on the sides of your screen. Set it to widescreen and I think you'll be happier. Wii hooked up easily. Just need to hook up the Vizio soundbar I bought and I'll be set to go. Very happy with this purchase!
Worst Purchase Ever
Claims or reviews about poor internet connections and TV turning off on it's own are very true! Like the picture, but it's not worth the frustrations of improper functions. Simply - Do Not Buy!
Bought this TV for the wifi and put in my kids' playroom. Wow have I been impressed. It has an unbelievable picture and I've had no problems using any of the internet services (Netflix & Amazon are the main ones I use). Only time I've had trouble is when Netflix is down, but when that happens it is on my Apple TVs, online, and Ipad as well. Bottom line - GREAT television. I'm getting another one for my office.
The picture is beautiful but We experienced a lot of technical problems. The set would turn off by itself then come back on after a few minutes. The screen would just go green and we would have to turn it off then turn it back on. Customer Service had us to reset to factory specs but that did not clear up the problems. It's going back to Sams in the morning.
Worst TV Ever
This TV and company are the worst ever. Had TV a short time and the picture turned red. Took a week but they sent someone out to fix it. The fix lasted 4 months. Screen went green the next time. It was out of warranty by 1 month. Ive had it at the TV repair for 4 months. The repairman has installed the same component twice. Still doesnt work. Will never buy a Vizio product again. Thats what a thousand dollars gets you.
I just bought this TV today with one of the deciding factors being the Vizio Internet Apps. I had seen other Vizio TV's with VIA and saw that the remote control had a qwerty keyboard on the back side. When I got the TV home I discovered that not only did it not have the qwerty keyboard there was no application that allowed browsing the web
bought this on black Friday 398.00 in store. Gave it to the family early no problems at all.Got it to connect xbox360 to, had the most plug ins of all other TVs Xbox stereo cable box etc the wifi built in ead an added bonus.Love this tv.Picture quality close to our expensive Samsung of same size.
So far this TV has been great in the well-lit living room. Sound quality is not amazing, but pretty good! Netflix runs perfectly so far; I haven't tried other apps.
