Dual-sided design
Trim and Shave Hybrid Design
5 Built-in length settings
Works great and high quality
Higher quality construction than the mangroomer line of products which are made of cheap plastic and don't work well. Easy to use. It's very convenient being able to flip the groomer over to shave or groom without having to change or remove parts. Battery lasts a long time for me but I'd prefer it wasn't nickel metal hydride since you need to wait until it completely discharges before recharging it. Overall it exceeds my expectations.
Good function, poor longevity
I've had it for less than a year, don't use it in the shower and maintain the shaver meticulously. However, there it sits, not charging and not turning on, useless. I even got a new charger base and a new charger cord. Nope. Its broken, 10 months of occasional use and its done for.
The trimmer feels substantial and quality made when handling it. It charged up quickly, and the cradle that comes with it is practical. The trimmer does last as long as advertised. For a trimmer that is purposely made to be a "personal trimmer" you still have to be careful in sensitive areas! Overall, I am happy with the trimmer. The design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
This product does what it says!
The product seems to work fine. I am still experimenting in private areas. So far - so good! I am happy with the way this product has performed. No nicks, cuts, or blood drawn in the first couple of times used. I will continue to update my review of this product as I increase it's use.
Could be better...
I had an older version of this and I was hoping with the positive reviews this would be improved. Not really improved. The trimmers on each side of the shaving head are still abrasive and don't seem to serve any purpose. The shaving head doesn't shave very close either. I've tried both wet and dry a few times precisely following their instructions and recommendations and it leaves much stubble. The hair trimmer on the flip side works fine. I'll continue to use a regular razor and shaving gel to get a closer, neater all over shave. And put this away...
Quality Body Groomer
This is the second Norelco groomer I have purchased and I am very pleased with their quality and usefulness. The 7100 has a good length making it easy to handle with a sure grip. I shave my lower body anatomy and find it is safe, free of unwanted nicks or cuts. The free moving shaving head allows it to easily move over curved surfaces and harder to access places. I am sold on these shavers to keep me trimmed. The battery life has been exceptional.
I like this Product
This is a body groomer and I like a couple of things about it. First it is wet dry so you can use it in or out of the shower. It has a good battery life and a relatively quick charge. This is my second one because the trimmer on my first one stopped working after about 4 months, the razor side always worked. I have had my current model at least three months and it is working perfectly. What I am doing different is that I am using it as a dry trimmer vs. wet. I use some baby powder and then trim then shave.
Great Shaver for grooming between shaving
A great razor. It still has the same limitations as most electric razors and can't shave quite as close but it is a great way to trim up and maintain in between shaving with a manual razor. Works well in the shower and is easy to clean and operate. If you like electric razors for your body grooming then this one should work well for you and not break the bank!
Works like a charm!
I've used Norelco other low cost bodygroom shavers. I needed a new one and wanted something updated and saw the Norelco BG2040/34 Bodygroom which had a lot of high review marks. I ordered it from Walmart for $69.95. It retailed for $90.91. I love the slick look; very modern. The stand is neat too and it feels good to hold. I use it mainly to shave, not trim, my body hair and it does a really good job.
Received as a gift and am enjoying it very much. Great that it can be used in the shower. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars everywhere is the clipper guard lengths. They are rather long. Let's be honest, if you are using this as a "groomer" you are most likely trying to keep the hair on your body fairly short. The shortest guard length was still too long for the length of hair I desired. Maybe it would work on a Wookie, but I'd prefer shorter guard options. I use the trimmer without the hairs and it works much better. Also, if hair is long enough to work with gaurd, it struggles to trim when hair of that length is wet.
Both hair trimmer and shaver
This product can be used for trimming hair, with or without the length attachment and to trim hair close with the other end. The shaving end does not shave as close as a blade. The trimmer can be used without the attachment to cut hair close, and if done carefully will not pinch the skin. My only complaint is the charging attachment which has a holder that makes contact with the two metal conductors on the side of the trimmer/shaver. It is difficult to get it to hold in firmly and if not just right the charging light will go off. Once charging however, it takes about an hour to charge completely. I misplaced the charger attachment and bought another trimmer as the charger alone was about 1/2 the price for both.
I've of the best shavers
I enjoy using this shaver very much. It gets the job done quickly & safely. This is actually my second set of these shavers, because my first one went bad after about 2 years. The issue was that it couldn't hold a charge. Since it was outside of warranty, I attempted swapping the batteries myself to better rechargeable batteries. Let's just say that didn't turn out well. I've got other shavers (Braun brand), but those honestly can't compete with these!
