its a cheap meat grinder that will grind meat if its cold enough.if not it doesnt do well.if the fat is even a little warm it doesnt do well.it doesnt do well making cased sausage.its cheap.so cheap i took it back and swore off using it a second time
Well made. Excellent value for someone who wants to grind 3 or 4 lbs per week. I would not want to grind 25 lbs of meat in one session but this grinder has already saved me money. Buy it for small operation!!!
the first time I used this it had so much residual meat stuck in the cylinder that i gave up. I washed it out and put it away. I think thst maybe i can paint it and use it as a piece of art.
My Grandmas hand crank Meat Grinder could grind up anything that you put inside of it but this thing is nothing like that.
The only thing it can grind up is meat that has no fat or tendons on it and if you do put meat in it like this then it gets clogged inside and will not grind up.
If that is not bad enough the meat has to be very carefully loaded in with your finders otherwise it will not start on its own.
To grind up 5 pounds of meat it took me about an hour.
At best this Meat Grinder will grind meat that has been very carefully cut into the right pieces that has no fat or tendons on it so what I think went wrong is during the testing phase of this product they grabbed some steak from off of the store shelf and during the demonstration to WalMart said "Look WalMart pre selected piece of meat goes into the top and red mushy stuff goes out the other end" (SOC)
I am well experienced with processing my own deer and bought this before deer season but when it came time to put this thing to the test I could see it was going to take me a whole week to get a job done that should have only taken me 4 hours.
I went to Dunhams because WalMart had no other meat grinders available to see that Dunhams was selling a hand crank Meat Grinder that looked just like this one but just a different brand name so I was very jittery about going through the same thing twice, I could not get any reviews on it so I just went with an entirely different kind of Meat Grinder called the Chard #8 electric Meat Grinder and have not had a problem since.
