Gives me a sense of security
I have to say I was a bit frightened of this pepper spray. I had visions of it accidentally discharging while in my car as it hung from my key chain. My fears were put to rest once the item arrived. It comes with all the warnings displayed clearly on the package and even has a link to a video about safe usage. I did as instructed and took it outside and sprayed a little into the ground to make sure it worked and also to see how easy and fast I could unlock it and then relock it. I could do it in seconds. It has a lovely grip on the plastic container where your fingers fit so there is no slipping while holding it. With the lock in place there can be no accidental discharges. I have a real sense of security while carrying this and would recommend it to all.
I feel safer, good product
I like that I feel safer while going for walks in my neighborhood. My old bottle of pepper spray was large and bulky with no grip. This one is cute, compact and the grip makes it comfortable to use. I haven't had to fire it yet though, thank goodness. I like that it attaches easily to my keychain and I don't have to take it off the key ring to remove it from my keys.
I love that it has a UV active compound in it so you can mark your attacker. It is comforting to know that that your attacker is less likely to get away without consequence.
I don't like that the lock/unlock button is so easy to turn. It was locked before putting it in my pocket but was unlocked after being in my pocket for a few hours.
Ready to workout!
I’m a runner and wanted the pepper spray for early morning workouts. Having it gives me a security blanket so I can focus more on my run as opposed to my safety. The pepper spray tube is really lightweight and fits in my hand comfortably. It comes with a snap attachment, however I typically just hold it in my hand and have yet to utilize the attachment. I think the color is unique and looks just like the picture. Its different from the typical pink and black pepper sprays I usually see. I have yet to actually spray it, but I guess that’s a good thing.
Great personal protection
I love this pepper spray! I have attached it to my key chain
and have found that it's pretty lightweight. I also love that
it's a bright light color of turquoise. I feel that if I am out
at night it would be easy to spot and reach for it in an
emergency, or if you panic. It does make me feel a little
safer. The other thing that I like about this product is that
it detaches from my key chain whenever I need it to. I like
the fact the product is safe in that, a simple twist at the
top and it hides the product (the pepper spray) easily so
that it doesn't spray accidentally or when not in use.
That to me is extremely important as I won't accidentally
spray myself. Like I said, a simple twist and it is ready
I plan on gifting it to my female friends and family. It's a
gift that shows your friends and family that you care about
I am very impressed with the Sabre pepper spray. Mine has a key chain attachment which makes it very easy to pull the spray off in case you need to use it. It fits perfectly on my key ring. I like how it fits right inside your hand and no one can see it. I like they also have a web site to watch the video on how to use the spray. The spray is also good for 5 yrs. When I drive I keep it in my console where it fits perfectly and no one knows what it is.
A peace of mind must have if you walk alone
I purchased this for my graduate student daughter to have while on campus and to take on evening walks with her golden retriever. She lives in a relatively safe city neighborhood but one never knows. What is more of a concern is if a stray or loose dog approaches her. After watching the companies informative tutorial videos and tips on how to use the spray, I learned this company also makes a animal spray and its not advised to use this pepper spray on animals. Normally she walks the dog with her boyfriend but I do worry and you can never be too safe. This pepper spray comes with a detachable quick release key chain clip so its not permanently attached to your keys or a leash. I wish it came with two detachable clips so you could attach it to a different item while leaving the clip in place. In order to depress the spray you must slide the safety latch to the open position. The directions say it sprays up to 10 ft away and approximately 25 shots are in each can. It fits comfortably in your hand tho I wish it was a little texturized as the surface is smooth. It is recommended that it be accessible, hence the clips, because you wont have time to search your handbag when you are in a undesirable situation. I hope my daughter never needs to use this but its good to know she does have a can incase she ever feels threatened.
Don't Leave Without It.
Sabre Red Pepper Spray key chain with quick Release key ring (3.5" inch @ 1.5 oz) good for 25 burst with a twist locking top. Fortunately I haven't had to use it as a self-defence but I did try one burst outside and sprays pretty powerful. I used to own a cheap plastic spray back in the 90s which leaked in my pocket while driving and I felt like having a heart attack so I don't recommend carrying it in your pockets. Do not leave spray in a hot car with temperature over 120F and watch for the expiration date. It's a quality spray and easy to use. Great for jogging or empty parking lots. Training video is provided.
So glad I have this item
With the unrest in our country now, I am so glad to have this item. It's a nice size to carry on my key ring and in my purse. The unlock lever seems like it won't come undone on its own, yet I can release and spray quickly. I personally am attaching the sprayer to my key ring with a snap clip because I have a second set of keys I sometimes carry and use the snap clip to connect the 2 sets, but if I didn't have that clip, the quick release key ring that came with this sprayer could be useful if I wanted to attach it to something like a belt loop when I wasn't going to have keys or my purse with me. The sprayer also has an expiration date almost 5 years out. When I tested the spray, I couldn't actually measure it to verify that it went 10 ft, but it went a good distance, definitely far enough to be useful. I haven't had to use this item yet and hope I never have to, but I definitely feel safer carrying it.
It's hard to review this to a full effectiveness, but in a neutral spray test the spray was pleasantly powerful in pressure and significant in spread, in case you weren't the most accurate shot.
The color options are attractive and the keychain feature is nice, but the quick release snap is ridiculous. Motor skills are a first thing to go in a moment of panic, and the quick release snap is unpleasant and almost difficult to find and use in a casual situation. I think it should just be a pressure release, instead of having to press in a sunken button, just have a hard pull and the spray is free. Bottle feels natural and sturdy in the hand, finger grips are a plus.
My only real criticism, is I wish it had a case, so the switch didn't accidentally catch something and arm the spray device.
Sabre pepper spray will get the job done
This pepper spray is fairly intense. I tried it in a sink and felt the burn in my nostrils and eyes within seconds of spraying it. It will likely spray a few feet from you but I cannot imagine it would spray too much further then that. The locking mechanism is easy to use...too easy for me to feel comfortable putting it on my key chain with my kids able to access it. That is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Would recommend for sure if you needed protection from someone looking to harm you.
Great self defense
This pepper spray has an attachment for your key chain or purse zipper. It has a quick release mechanism so it's easy to detach on your way to the car, to your apartment or even answering your door if it's a stranger. The spray is a direct stream and goes about 10 feet. There is also a twist lock on the top where you press down to spray, to avoid it spraying while it's in your purse. The spray itself has a UV marking dye which may help police identify the culprit. There is even a training video you can watch.
SABRE Red Pepper Spray
Kinda hard to test without an actual requirement, but should be effective enough to allow you to flee.
I tested it in the yard and the spray is adequate distance-wise; a nice stream.
Apparently though, there was a breeze that blew the mist back into the air a few seconds later. It must have remained for several minutes because when I walked back in that area, I could feel it in my throat. It was not pleasant, even after several minutes of dissipation. So, wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a spritz!
The entire device, with rings, is pretty long. (see photos). To me, this is an issue. I was hoping to keep it on my belt loop when entering customers neighborhoods, etc. It's long enough to be obvious and would clang into furniture and walls, etc. When you add one of today's car keys (big, heavy, clunky things) it can be pretty awkward.
The 'unlock' feature is pretty smooth and easy. Almost too easy. Possible to unlock it without meaning to, but you would still have to push the nozzle to spray.
Also, the 'Quick Release' is not so quick. I played with the release for some time to see if there was a more comfortable way to do that. When it releases, it IS quick. It just doesn't seem consistent enough to be able to do it inconspicuously; i.e. one-handed. I may look for another way to keep it handy without using that clip.
In keeping with its' intended function, the SABRE Red Pepper Spray should be a valuable deterrent when needed. I'd recommend it for mature users.
Appears to be an effective mixture
Easy grip and aim
Long and awkward with key chain attached
Quick Release could be easier to release
Go With Confidence!
The SABRE RED Pepper Spray gives you the confidence to go out in public knowing you can protect yourself from unwanted attention. In times like these, you need to know you have something to defend yourself if someone were to approach you intending harm. It's not always reasonable or possible to carry a gun, however this Pepper Spray is easy to carry with you all the time. I carry mine on my purse which I always have if I am out. This unit easily breaks away from the key chain and is ready to use with just a quick movement. The spray is steady and strong making it easy to hit your target. This is a must-have item for all women and others! Great gift idea but don't wait until Christmas to give it!
The Sabre Pepper Spray as you can see from the photo is Made in the USA, the Mint Green is a nice color and fits in the palm of your hand for easy use with the thumb lever to open or close to spray someone if needed. I don't know however if the spray is effective against an attacker as I didn't have the pleasure of trying it out on one and no one would volunteer for an experiment to see if the pepper spray would stop a person if I had the opportunity to actually use it.
Well, I just received my handy-dandy pepper spray. It’s very well-made and has very easy to follow the instructions on how to use it. There’s actually a video you can watch if you feel more comfortable learning via video. But the instructions were pretty self-explanatory. I like the fact that it has an easy snap off from whatever you’re attaching it to. You can attach it to your keychain if you wanted to. I attached mine to my purse so it’s easy to get to and that would be on the outside of my purse not the inside. I didn't want to be fumbling for it inside my purse. I just keep my hand near it at all times. I REALLY like that it also has a safety feature so that it will not accidentally go off should have younger children in the home.
So you just snap it off and then you flip a little lever and spray and that’s it! I also like is the fact that it’ll shoot from up to 10 feet away.
I have been wanting one for awhile now, it just gives me an added sense of security when I am out and about either by myself or with other people. And whether it’s during the day or during the night. My 3 girls loved it so I’m actually thinking about getting ones for my older daughters too.
Received as part of the Walmart Spark Reviewer program
First and foremost, I recommend everyone to have pepper spray on themselves, especially women! The size is perfect. It’s small and compact. I can throw it in my purse or hang on my car keys. It’s not heavy. It’s light. It has a training video you can watch online to educate yourself on how to work the pepper spray. The size is about the length of a dollar folded in half. It has a good grip.
Nice Little Pepper Sprayer
I have not had to use it in a defensive situation but like it for the color making it easy for females to locate in a purse or anyone locating it in a console, or door pocket.
A test fire revealed:
1. A very fine stream of 10 feet before fanning out.
2. The button press needs a determined effort, a good thing to prevent unintentional firing.
Long thumbnails will not be a problem.
The lock switch is easy enough to operate and doubles as the trigger.
An added key chain quick release is included.
Hard to discharge the spray
I received the Sabre Red pepper spray quick release key chain to use for protection. I did a test spray and had to push it a few times very hard to get it to discharge from container and the stream did not travel straight. The quick release key chain had too many parts to it. One would have to have it disconnected and ready to go, for example, while walking to your car. Having used other pepper sprays in the past I would not recommend this style for safety. I found too many aspects to be flawed that I would not feel confident using it if I was in a true emergency. The company lists video links for viewing on how to use their products on the package/directions which I found helpful.
I received this product free of charge to test and review.
I carry this pepper spray in situations where I feel I might need it. It works well. However, you must basically have it in your hand with your finger on the trigger button at all times when you feel frightened or like you might need it. If the need to use it came you don't have time to fumble in a purse and look at it and flip it the right direction, get the lock off and get ready to spray. That would take way too long. So If I go on a walk where I know it might be needed I carry it with my finger on the lever at all times. It adds a feeling of security but it's a burden to me. The mint green color is nice though.
Peace of mind
I got this pepper spray for peace of mind to have something to protect myself I I ever need it. The aqua color is quite pretty so I don’t mind it hanging from my purse. I sprayed it once just to check it out and it had a full stream and sprayed pretty far. It fits nicely into my hand securely. The thing I don’t understand is the break-a-way keychain. It spray itself has a ring on in already, so if you attract it to the key ring, it’s a ring inside of another ring, so two rings dangling down.
