Purchased my first Seiki 32" about 2 years ago at a decent price; quality was satisfactory for my purposes and it was working fine so I thought I could trust the brand. Bought my second Seiki 39"... it lasted 5 months! No sound; no picture -- completely black. Since it was still under manufacturers' warranty, I sent it back to the company. I no longer had the original box but I packed that TV with the utmost care using Bubble wrap, styrofoam, newspaper -- the works and mailed it off paying $70 shipping.. After Seiki received the TV, they emailed me a picture of it saying that they would not honor the manufacturer's warranty because the TV screen was broken. There is NO WAY that screen should have been broken in the manner that was on that picture. For all I know, it could have been another TV that they staged with my packing box. And they would not return the TV to me unless I paid another $50 to ship it back to me. They probably refurbished my TV and re-sold it. And to top that off, the 32" suddenly stopped working. Picture is fine, but there is no sound; remote seems possessed because it changes settings on its own. The manufacturer's is expired on that one. I don't expect to need to buy a new TV set every 3-4 years! but if you buy a Seiki, don't expect it will last long
