SJ620 Ultra Series 13.5 Amp 18 in. Electric Snow Thrower
Very good choice
I never had an electric snow blower before but I took a chance on this when the big snow came in January and it did not disappoint. Worked great for the 8-10 inches of snow we got. Even with the drifts as high as the opening on the machine, Snow Joe plowed through it all and threw the snow out at least 15 feet. Great value!
Sno Joe Snowblower 18"
We had a 14" snowfall that i shoveled on for about three days to clear my driveway. That is when i decided to buy and Electric Snow Thrower. I purchased the Sno Joe SJ620 from WalMart.Com. This is the best deal i have made in a long time. We just had another 8" snowfall and it was supposed to rain the next day so i really did not need to clean the driveway but i wanted to give the Sno Joe a try. It was a breeze. It was so easy to push (easier than the shovel) and it threw the snow at least 12 feet. So it took no time at all to clean the driveway. I bought the additional warranty with it just in case but i really think i got my moneys worth on this one. And best of all no more hurting back. I would recommend this snow thrower and had already recommended it to friends. I think my neighbor also liked it because as he was shoveling his driveway by hand he kept watching me breeze through mine. ha. ha..
Truthfully, this is the best snowblower I could have purchased ANYWHERE. Electric means I don't have to yank on a start cord any longer - MUCH better on my back & shoulder. I used this snowblower the second day I had it - in 4 inches of snow - our first snowfall of the season. It didn't matter if there were sticks, twigs, pine cones, leaves - whatever - under the snow. It just plowed right thru everything and never jammed or overheated. It did a fantastic job. The only drawback to some people might be the length of the power cord - luckily for me, I have an electrical outlet that can follow me down our very long driveway (motorhome). As for the snowblower itself - wow - way more than I expected for the price. Thank you.
1st off the shipping box ..well designed, hand holds for carrying. 2nd, the machine fit it like a glove, easy to remove. 3rd, the assembly was very easy, a pre-teen could do it without instructions. Unfold the 2 part handle, tighten the 4 large oversized attached wingnuts. Insert the discharge chute crank thru the hole on the handle, tighten the oversized, screwdriver sloted threaded screw and you are ready for business. No screwdriver needed. We had 18" of snow 2 days before the Snow-Joe arrived and it warmed up, then went to below 0* leaving the snow heavy crusted with ice. Using the machine like an old fashioned reel lawnmower it cut right thru it slowly. No stalling. Our winds here in Glacier county Montana are always with us in the winter so, no fault of the machine, I looked like Frosty the Snowman when I finished. It was fun tho, even for this 76 yr. old man. Excellent buy, Excellent machine..well thought out. Will rereview this at the end of the winter.
This Little Snow Joe Does Big Job
I bought this electrical snow Joe on Nov. 28, 2015. I am happy about this toy that I have already used 3 times while we had 2 snow storms hit our area in the last 10 days. Both my wife and I are senior citizen. Now that this toy is so light that I can handle the big job by myself without her help. We are really happy about this wonderful snow thrower!
Great little rig
I bought the SnoJoe a month or so ago, out of desperation. We've had a ton of snow this winter and I like to keep the decks cleared off as much as possible. I was getting a 'bit' tired of shoveling. The blower works really well, it's perfect for the jobs we've done - cleared off a flat carport roof, cleared out the end of driveway after the plow went by, the driveway when the 'big' blower was out of commission for a couple of days. It's light, easy to handle, enough power to blow the snow from Atlantic Canadian storms that have left 20 - 40 cm of snow at a time. .
Powerful little machine
We had record amounts of snow in February. I use this to clear my front walk and trim areas my snow power can't get on the driveway. Surprisingly, it dug right into the compacted snow the plow had left. Shoots it a good distance, even with heavy snow. I love that I can direct the snow with the chute since I have limits areas that I can put it.
Good for my purpose
I bought this to clear the snow on my deck and it serves the purpose. Live in an area with lots of snow so wouldn't be able to do the driveway but clears up to a foot of snow on the deck. It is strong enough to blow it right over the railing too. Only had it for a month so can't report on the long term. Easy to use, light and I bought cover to be able to leave it on the deck.
Performs Exactly as Advertised
The Sno Joe is an extremely well-thought out product, that does as it is supposed to. Assembly was incredibly simple, not requiring any tools whatsoever. I had it together and ready to run in five minutes. And run it did. We have had a very snowy winter here, and I immediately put it to use clearing my large back deck. Blow snow farther that you would think for a such a small, light unit. Don't imagine you can use the 620 for heavy snowfalls, or large driveways, but for lighter-duty purposes, it's hard not to recommend the Sno Joe!
Best snow thrower for the price
This product is easy to use and very effective. My only concern is cannot adjust the throwing nozzle lower so that my snow will not go to neighbours. When adjusted lower there is a small opening between the moving lip and nozzle so part of snow comes out verically up on to your face. Anyway it's a good product and very handy.
Reliable product and good value.
While my use has been rather limited so far this winter, I have found the Snow Joe to be up to the task in clearing snow efficiently. Sadly, much of the later precip this winter has been in the form of ice and that has been much more difficult to remove. I would recommend the Snow Joe for any normal winter. Unfortunately this has been a record winter and it has been a struggle to move snow even with the help of this snow blower.
Good value for the price
I ordered this after we installed a metal roof that sheds onto a large deck. The resulting heap of ice and snow is extremely heavy and wet snow, like a plow wake, and up to 3 feet high. I find that the Snow Joe is easy for me to manipulate, being electric, and does make it feasible to remove the snow. It is a process of a mixture of shoveling and snow blowing, and you have to plow partial paths at a time. However, I could not keep the deck clear without the SnowJoe, and it has held up for some large snows.
This is a great back saver
This machine of great for moving light powder even deep powder as an alternative to shoveling.I loved this machine until I got an ice chunk from my vehicle. The machine started shaking and the auger was not rubbing on the inside of the chassis. It was shaking so bad that I contacted support. They provided a RMA and a prepaid ups slip for returning the unit for repair. I had my replacement in about a week.
With a large dunno of snow last Friday, I had the chance to use the replacement. First use, the same thing happened. I pushed the machine toward the heavy snow left behind by the plow and the machine started shaking to the point that it was hurting my wrists and hands.
Good machine for its price
It's good if you are low on budget. I didn't mind the cord, as long as you tied the cord head together , so it doesn't move around at the machine. It does the job well, but the blower is not very strong, so when it comes out, it doesn't quite fall on the side you want if there is med to strong wind involve. You have to maneuver around the cord, just need to have pattern that works for your drive way.
I know people generally advise against electric snow blowers but I didn't want to spend a ton of money or have a huge machine to store in my garage. We've had a few pretty big snow storms, some with really heavy, wet, slushy snow and it worked great. I have a driveway that can comfortably park 4 cars and this blower does a great job and is WAY better than shoveling!
So Far So Good
I was kind of leery about buying this product but I'm glad I did. It is very lightweight so I have no problems putting it in my basement since I don't have a garage. So far I have only used it once during a recent snow storm we had in Michigan last weekend. I was really impressed with this snowblower. We got about 6 or 7 inches and I had not problem clearing the snow from my drive and walkways. I''m glad I purchased a 100 for cord because I was able to cover the areas I needed with that cord. I just have to be mindful about the cord because I did trip over the cord after a few minutes but I will get used to it over time. This is my first electric snowblower. I would recommend this product especially for a female since it's so lightweight.
VERY pleasantly surprised!
We just had 5 inches of snow in CT and I was excited to test my new snowblower. My driveway is about 100 feet long and I cleared it an about 20 minutes! Shoveling would normally take an hour, and this snowblower really surprised me. It's light, easy to push and easy to clean. No messy gas, oil or complicated levers. Just push the button, hold the throttle and GO! You just have to watch the cord and I did have to connect an additional extension cord, but this machine is worth every penny. Great price and value!
