I've owned and sworn-by my Chi ceramic flat iron for years, so when I came across this product, I didn't hesitate to buy it, as I'm already using the serum (Silk Infusion# and thought I could use additional protection from heat. Purchasing this product wasn't a good decision at all, here's why: - The product is sticky and wet. It really saturates the hair. - It doesn’t dry quickly, and because it's so wet, you end-up flat-ironing damp hair, which isn’t good at all. I've read many reviewers that suggest spraying your hands, then running your hands through your hair. I would agree with that, IF I were to recommend this product. - The result is stiff, dull, dry hair with frizzy/brittle edges. This product actually MAGNIFIED my damaged, split ends, if not contributed to them. Not sure what hair type/ethnicity this product was intended for, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this for relaxed African American hair. I don't like oils or heavy product in my hair, however because this iron guard left my hair so dry #even after applying the serum afterwards), I may end-up spraying it with a little oil sheen to hold me until I wash, and redo my hair.
