I'm ashamed to say it, but I bought a brand new Xbox 360 solely for this game (PS3 doesn't have the Kinect... which I love).
I was playing this game at Wal-Mart over and over again on their Xbox game station and I loved the game so much that I forked out the money just so I could take this game home.
Now, I'm not a veteran of the MvC series, but as a veteran of fighting games in general, I really enjoy the fast-paced gaming experience this game can deliver... and it's the main reason why I enjoyed it.
Although it is a load of fun playing w/ others on Xbox Live or w/ a real friend, it lacks in replay value as this game has a shorter attention span than most other fighting games. The unlockables are great extra content built into the game, but other than the fighting this game can become very repetitive really fast.
Take notice that this game isn't for everyone; the repetitive gameplay will turn away many. However, if you love a good challenge w/ fast-paced action, this game is probably a good choice for you.
FYI: This game is great for button mashers when put on 'Simple' mode, however experienced players will easily be able to eat through any average button masher any day of the week. Don't expect to win many matches by button mashing, it just won't work vs those who constantly block and counter.
Tip: Don't play any ranked games until you can beat Very Hard mode w/ at least three core characters you plan to use most in ranked. If you want to fight others, play normal games via Xbox Live; you'll get better and you won't ruin your rank record. Because I did this, I have over 80% wins in both normal games and ranked games. I didn't even start playing ranked games until I had at least 200 - 300 normal games in. By that time I went in confident... and I saw all those who weren't as good... the majority of them never beat Very Hard mode.
This game is very accessible to newcomers and yet favors the hardcore. Awesome fighting system. You'll have to put in a lot of practice to be great at the game, but it's soooo worth the effort. Your hard work in the game pays off with super flashy cool combos. My only gripe with the game is that there isn't spectator mode for online matches. BUT, I'm sure Capcom will fix that in a future update.
This game is pretty much everything i expected to get out of a street fighter style game. Battles are very intense and each diffucltly level is a new challange. I do get bored with the game after about 15 matches and decide its time to do something else. Overall its exactly what i expected.
what - a combination of two different worlds
The Capcom characters come from the Far East, Europe, and the U.S.
where - mythical places
One place is the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier located over the water near New York City.
when - a time of chaos
The government is probably similar to the government of the U.S.S.R. in the 1980s.
why - a new type of government
The story reminds me of a CNN documentary on the Cold War.
A quality sequel to MvC2 that is able to satisfy both hardcore tournament players and casual button mashers.
I have been waiting for this game for a year and I'm very let down. 20 character's have been cut and made in to dlc , you can't watch matches when waiting for your turn ' the new button layout is nothing like a true capcom fighter and you can easily button mash your way to any win. rent this game don't buy.
Its a good present
This game is not worth the money, will buy on Ebay.com next time... Plus SLOW shipping.
