Product doesn't work as described. I tried to slice one small onion following the instructions exactly. The food pusher would not hold the onion in place so it slipped and slid several times. I had to keep putting the onion back on the slicer. Returning this ASAP. Don't waste your money.

I really do not like to cook and I particularly do not like complicated food gadgets. That is why I love, love, love this product. I use it primarily for slicing squash, zucchini, carrots, celery, and sweet potatoes. Not the greatest for onions (or I haven't figured out the trick yet). And I am not sure about other foods. I just haven't tried other things. But, with three thickness choices, I can cut a bit thicker for veggie chips (I bake or microwave them after I cut them) or a veggie tray ... or cut almost paper thin to put in veggie soup/stew. This is super fast and easy to use, clean, and store. I can slice a squash, etc. in seconds. And I can just wash the slicer off, dry it, and put it back in a small kitchen drawer. It takes up NO space and travels well if you want to take it with you on trips/to family gatherings/etc. When family and friends see me use this, they all want one (I feel like an infomercial but it is true. LOL). BEWARE however. I don't think the plastic "holder" they provide to use to slide the food back and forth across the blade is worth a darn. In fact, that is probably the reason folks don't like this product. But I bought a pair of cut resistant gloves and just slice away. If you don't do something to make sure you keep your fingers/thumb away from the blade when you get down to just a bit of the veggie left, you will probably slice yourself. Don't ask how I know that. I am not sure that those who a proficient cooks/chefs will like this. Maybe. Maybe not. But I love it and use it several times a week without fail. It is one of my personal favorite things.
