I ride 52 miles a day on my bike. 80% of the ride is in the dark, which means I need a reliable set to get me to and from work, while letting the vehicles around me know I am there. I oringally bought this set as a temporary set until I bought a HDD setup for my bike. Since the cost was so amazingly low, it was worth it even if they were junk. I ordered the lights and was immediately impressed at the strength of the lights. They easily attached to my bike, although the head lamp took some work because my handlebars are not a cylinder, but a sloping tube. I put normal duracel batteries in and fully expected them to wear out quickly, because of the strength of the light. I have owned the lights for 9 months, riding to and from work 5 days a week, keeping the lights on for at least an hour a day, normally two hours. I just replaced the batteries for the FIRST TIME!! The battery life is truley amazing. Keep in mind I only use the flash function on the lights, rarely do I need the constant head light, since I know my routes by heart now. If you are exploring a new area, keep the constant on. The rear I always keep on a fast flash since it is more visible than a constant. My one and only negative, which is really more negligence on my part than design flaw is that you have to pay attention when you are putting them on. They click into their mounts. If you don't click it, they will fall off. Mine have fallen several times and they still work perfectly. I never needed to get the $100+ dollar HDD light. This set worked flawlessly for me.
This headlamp is very bright & throws a focused beam. It illuminates the street well at 30 to 40 feet. When aimed at a vertical surface it lights it up much further away. It's rated at 750 lumens, about twice as much as other headlights available at mass merchanisers, and comparable to others in the $50 price range. Online price is about half what it is in the stores. The clear top of the lens allows glare in the eyes, I'll put some black electrical tape over the top of the clear lens. It's also usable as a very bright flashlight, as it slides off the mount. A 750 lumen led flashlight also goes for about $50. Compared to a typical 9 led flashlight, its like night & day. It does rattle a little bit, but its not objectionable to me. The rattle seems to be in the mechanism, not the battery holders or case. It's not loud and not really noticeable unless you focus on it. It should be economical to use with rechargable batteries. Overall, very pleased.
These lights are very bright. We were more concerned with drivers seeing us than us seeing them. We've had other lights that would use up batteries very fast but so far these seem to be better.
Rattles a little on bumpy roads but very good light for it's price.
easy to install and works fine
This thing rattles when you hit any kind of bumps on the street. Light output is very good though, but annoying because this product is not put together very well. The inside is already loose. Would not recommend it. Look somewhere else. I'm planning on returning this light.
