Review of both PVC/nylon and polyester rain suits

Coleman pvc nylon rain suit I work outdoors in the cold, heat and rain for 4 to 8 hours a day. This combination of waterproof gear does work. It will keep you dry except for around the neck area it is to low cut and the water will come in and get your chest wet. In temperatures above 50 to 60 degrees or more you will sweat. Otherwise it works very well. Much lighter weight then the pvc polyester suit for continuous stressful work, but I do believe this suit is more susceptible to punchers than the pvc nylon suits. I have not had anything rip or tear on this suit yet. I have noticed a little wear on the crotch area but this is after 10 months of use being out in the rain about once a week to 2 or 3 times a month. I learned my lesson after the pockets of the pvc polyester rain suit jacket ripped out on the first time I used it. I would suggest placing only lightweight items in the pockets. I would definitely stress getting a waterproof rain ball cap to wear underneath the rain suit hood this will help to keep the water from going down your shirt and help to keep a good field of vision. You can accomplish this by leaning your head forward just a little bit to let the rain hit then fall off and around your face not down your shirt. I would suggest either the outdoor research hat, LL Bean, and a few others received good reviews on the internet. The only other thing that helped with the water not going down my shirt was wearing the Coleman parka underneath my pvc nylon rain suit jacket. The neck area zips up higher and tucks underneath your chin, but it is much hotter wearing the two jackets I can suggest not zipping up the two jackets just using the buttons and Velcro for some ventilation. On bare skin the rain suit pants can cause irritation around the waistline with the drawstring to tight. I do believe the draw string may break before the pants wear out. The button on the pants that keep the pants from being stepped on is a little to tight to fit around boots or rubber rain boots if there was just a little more material there it would put less stress on the button. I expect the button to not work after a little more wear and tear I will probably end up having to use a large rubber band or Velcro tie strap. I hope these suggestions help for the most part this is doing the job but I am sure there are better quality on the market if you want something cheap this can do the job. It is made of thin material but it still works. I wouldn't recomend it to anyone needing a rain suit on a regular basis, but for the occasional use, like the recent fishing trip I went on, it was perfect. I wear a medium in regular clothes and jackets and this suit was to cover medium and large, so it was kind of big but would be easy to wear a thick sweatshirt or a jacket underneathe.

Had to return product, runs very big and smallest available size (M/L) was much too big for me. Rain suit seemed sturdy and well made. Color blue seemed a lot darker than in the picture, not ideal in terms of visibility (e.g. as a bike rider).

I purchased the suit to wear whole on vacation, however the small is exceptionally large. I was unable to wear the suit because of it's size. It is a quality suit and is a good buy for the price; it wouold be better if you actually had a small suit that is appropriate for a small frame women.
