I initially bought this pot to use as a stock pot for making Vietnamese pho soup, which it worked flawlessly for. However, I had always wanted to make tamales, so since I now had a tamale steamer... more reason to give it a shot, right? It works absolutely perfectly. I've made two batches of tamales... both turned out awesome. No real issues with the pot. The glass lid is nice, the handles are covered so you can actually touch them during cooking without pot holders. The steamer tray stays put when it's in. All this for less than $20? It's a no-brainer.
