Had a pcmcia mobile data card, but my new laptop only had an express port. This was the cheapest adapter (USB or express port) I could find, and it works as described. My data card sticks out a bit now, but its better than having to spend more money to buy a new mobile card. I notice no obvious difference in data speeds, though I haven't ran any tests to verify. I haven't had the adapter very long so I can't report on reliability, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Bought two and neither worked with PCMCIA flash card adapter or a communication adapter. The computer recognized the Expresscard to PCMCIA adapter, but I couldn't get anything to work in the adapter.
