I was looking for a battery operated lawn mower that was light enough for my daughter & I to use, would actually cut the grass & be easy to use - and this does it all! We'd been borrowing a gas mower, and both of us had trouble pulling the cord, neither of us liked dealing with the gas....While not as light as I'd like, it's about 6 lbs lighter than my brother-in-law's gas mower, so I knew we could manage, and it starts like a dream - insert "key", push button, pull handle & you're going.
The battery by itself (lifting it in & out) is heavy to me, but I'm in low-average shape strengthwise, so maybe it's just me. I don't know a lot about how you can tell how well a mower mows - to me, if it cuts the grass, it's working. This one works. We've got a relatively small, flat yard with few obstacles (about .2 acre, about 4200 mowable sf), and one charge does it all. When done, we plug it in 'til next time so we don't run out of power. It takes my daughter about 30-45 minutes to mow - I haven't done the whole yard yet (it's her job) so I don't know if I'd be faster or slower, but holding the charge isn't a problem for us. We live in the Pacific NW, and get lots of rain, but I don't let the grass get too high - haven't had to mow while grass was totally wet, but mowed yesterday when it was damp and it wasn't a struggle (we have to take what mowing time we can get here, if we waited 'til the grass was actually totally dry it would be 2 feet tall!!)
Storage is simple, we have a little utility room in the back of the garage - by folding the handle down, we've got enough space & there's an outlet there to plug it in to charge. By the way, the handle is very comfortable, and the fact that you can adjust it to your height is great, since we're both under 5' 5" tall - some of the others I'd tried had handles that were way too high!
Although the price was more than I'd wanted to pay, it's been worth it so far - we've used it about 4 or 5 times and no problems...if it lasts another couple of years or longer, I'll consider it money well spent.
