I've had a total gym since 12-2000. It was originally invented to help people with physical therapy. To be easy on the joints,no jerking or straining of muscles. In 5-8 minutes a day,5-6 days a week, you get a total body work out. An aerobic, weight lifting and cardio work out on one machine. They have a dvd workout that comes with the machine. And it is at the end of the dvd after the instructions on how to use the total gym. I lost 50 lbs.,4 dress sizes, and felt like I was 20 years younger. Everyone who has tried my Total Gym,has bought one. And it is the only equipment you will ever need! At least try it. You will love it and look forward to using it.
Okay, my husband and I saw this at our Walmart store, but didn't buy it. At under $200 it seemed too cheap to be any good so we went home and read the reviews first. They were outstanding so back my husband went to get the only one they had. This unit is amazing! Well-built and smooth... you're gliding while you're exercising! So many exercises and you can make up your own. We keep it right in the family room so we can watch TV or talk to each other while we work out. It's our new togetherness thing! The only thing we could wish for is a bigger board. I think this one is 13" x 43". If you're under 6 feet and under 230 lbs. I would recommend trying it. My husband is 225 lbs. and he'd only like a little wider board (that's his only complaint... and this is from a man who never likes the lower end model of anything). I won't say it's easy to store away because we haven't done that. It's a little heavy so I'd guess that moving it is like an exercise in itself. This unit uses your body weight for resistance. You can adjust the board up or down for less or greater resistance. It has a bar that attaches to the top or bottom. I use the bar on the bottom to push off with my legs and I lift the board to almost the highest position (more resistance). I push off with one leg and hold the other leg in the air... oh man! You feel it in no time! My most killer exercise is laying on my back, my arms just holding the arm pulls (not pulling) and lifting my legs. Killer ab exercise! You can't beat this unit, but you need to consider your size. Go up to a more expensive model if you need to fit your size better. My husband and I went to the official total gym website and those things are in the thousands $$$. How can they be that much better than this? They better wake me up and make my toast in the morning!
