I purchase it online and put it together myself. It was an upgrade from my other Walmart bike (Roadmaster). This one is fast and I love the disk brakes. After riding it for 200 miles (out-the-box), I took it to my local bike shop for a tune up. It rides way better now. They adjusted gears and breaks. I take it all over town every day and I am very satisfy with it.
Excellent large sized bike for the money
One of the least expensive 700c bikes with aluminum frame, suspension fork and disc brakes out there, but also very good quality. Basic setup was very good, wheels were straight and true, brake adjusted correctly and both derailleurs spot on. Bought it for conversion to an ebike (see picture), so had the chance to disassemble most of it and liked the quality of construction.
super walmart fan 1
very great bike shifts very smoothly very easy riding up hills very comterble ride
Best bike in forever! Works best with custom “Surfas” (from Amazon) inner tubes if u pimp it up2 44 pounds of pressure. Will go nearly speed bike speed. Well built piece of machinery with better inner tubes
Great multi-purpose bike, great price
I've had a 700c DSB Hybrid from Schwinn before. I loved that bicycle and this one is a step up with the disc brakes and really mean looking red, grey, and black color scheme. Great for street riding or mild trails.
Great entry level mountain bike
I purchased this bike for a tween. She loves this bike. I'm happy with quality of components and how easy it was to assemble. Great bike for this price. I would not recommend this bike for anyone over 6'.
originally bought a $150 mongoose which had poor quality, returned it and bought this it is much better way better buy spend the extra money and get a good bike
Made to Ride.
Am very happy with the purchase of this bike. has all the features I need such as disc brakes and the Shimano shifters. This bike rides smooth and easily shifts all gears. The suspension works very well. Accessories can be easily added if needed. This is a Hybrid bike meaning it has the road tires that still function like off road tires.
my son loves this.
My 5'11" son has been riding my bike (I'm 5'4") for the last several months. He's loving having a bike that fits for him. Loves the disk brakes as well.
You get what you pay for
First thing to keep in mind, this bike is cheap. And as always, you get what you pay for... If you're not a pro biker and just need something to go out and about, then it'll probably be fine. I use it on roads and it's a pretty smooth ride, but on trails you should definitely avoid very bumpy areas. It screws with the sihfters and they're now giving me issues. It also tends to derail easily when I go to the lowest gears... But again, it's a $300 bike so can't complain. It's a good starter bike but I know I will end up spending more on a proper one once I feel like I'm getting better.
Great fun ride town and road off
Great bike! Just get it reassembled professionally
I bought this bike over 2 years ago. The first thing I did was, I took it to the local bike shop and got it reassembled for $80. Ever since then I've taken it on lots of 10-30 mile trips and it's a very comfortable bike. The brakes are amazing, the stability is great and feels sturdy. The only thing is, this bike is very heavy. I haven't had to adjust anything since I got it reassembled 2 years ago. I keep it inside and I only ride it in the summer. Definitely worth the price!
- Value for money
Not a bad bike but had a few issues with kick stand and the bearings in the pedals and the crank bearings also replaced back wheel do to bearing failure. Other than that the company was horrible at warranting anything and charged you more in shipping than the part was worth. It a wonder everyone doesnt have one.
I've had this bike for almost a year, and I truly love it. This is the first bike that I have owned or ridden with disc brakes, and I wouldn't have one without them now. You will have to tune it after you take it out of the box, but that's just part of cycling IMO. I only put up 4 stars because nothing is perfect.
Good bike for price
Just bought this bike and I really like the colors and finish. Also like the fact that the gear shifts are not part of the handle. Instead an attachment that you shift with your thumbs. I put this bike next to my 29 inch Genesis and they are close in size for a big guy like me. The seat has extra padding and the bike itself has a smooth ride.
This has been a WONDERFUL bike!!!
This is a GREAT bike. I have the older model without the disk brakes and I have literally driven this well over 20,000 miles including a 20 mile round trip back and forth to work every week day for two years. As you can see from the picture I have added some extra features to make commuting a little easier. The frame is rock solid. The running gear not so much but I have gone through 2 sets of upgraded running gear, in addition to the original running gear, in those miles so... The first thing you should do is to take it to a real bike shop and have it tuned up. They won't like doing that to a "box store" bike and will probably charge you a premium but it is worth it. I really can't say enough about how great this bike has been. I have 2 other much more expensive bikes but this is my 'go to' bike for almost everything. I work too far from home now to commute on this bike so my wife and I are using this and her Fuji for bike backpacking and touring. I never have to worry with my DSB.
Great bike for the money
This is a surprisingly good bike for the money. Nice frame and wheels. The front and rear shifter mechs are low-end, but that's to be expected at this price point. I picked this up from Wlamart, in the box, which measures 56" x 30" x 9". All of the cup-and cone bearings - in the wheels, pedals and steering stem - were over-tightened. If used in that condition, they would very soon be damaged. The front disk brake was adjusted ok, but I had to re-centre the rear caliper and adjust the cable. The rear derailleur was reasonably adjusted, but the front changer was way off. I had to rotate it and raise it slightly, and then do both end stops and redo the cable. The instruction book is very good and gives all the information you need, but if you're not familiar with bike adjustments it would be best to get someone who is to check the bike over before you use it. I normally ride a racing bike, so the DSB felt very high, with an upright seating position - but it's comfortable, with a good range of gears making it great for hacking around town or going on easy trails. I actually bought this to convert it to an eBike, but I may ride it as is for a while.
Good but needs to be upgraded
This is a great all around bike for the money with firm front suspension (good). After saying that you have to customize this bike. I replaced the saddle, the pedals, the shifter, cut the handle bar (too long). I installed a sophisticated rack and fitted the bike with front and rear guards. Added expensive waterproof paniers ($180) that cost almost as much as the bike itself. The total ads on was a cool $320! I order replacement disc brakes pads directly from Schwinn in Wisconsin. The tires are the perfect width road/off road. I am 5.9. I could use a 20-21 size instead of Walmart 18 across the board. This is the only limitation of buying a Schwinn at Walmart: size fits all. If you are a competitive road biker you cant buy a size fits all bike. 18 is too small for most men.
Can't go wrong
I was talked into this bike at the Store for it's Lifetime Warranty and Disc brakes. It is a phenomenal bike for the price, and cool colors & finish. I am 6' tall and the height is perfect, adjusts easily of you need. The handles are comfortable for long rides, seat too. Gears shift flawlessly, and brakes actually lower the bike upon pressure, which I had to get used to... It is a heavy bike tho, feels like a mountain bike. I am currently looking for the girl's version for myself
Schwinn used to mean something
Freewheel cassette roars really loud from the very first ride, as if it has no lubrication. Let bike shop take a look, and it was all because of a cheap made cassette assembly, no way to fix, but to replace with quality part
