best present i ever got
This is probably the most neat thing I have ever gotten. It works awesome, cooks perfect turkey every time.
Best turkey cooker ever
This roaster is amazing. Directions said ten minutes per pound but it cooks much faster. I cooked a 16 pound turkey in 2 1/2 hours and was it moist!!
greeat way to fry a turkey
I've probably fried over 100 turkeys using peanut oil..quite a hassle not to mention the expense of the oil..purchased my Butterball yesterday and 13 lb. butterball fresh turkey..injected it with creole butter seasoning..used butterball dry rub extensively..submerged hickory wood chips in water for 30 minutes...inserted meat thermometer deep into breast...cooked turkey to 185 degrees..turned out perfect..delicious taste, moist meat(even thr breast) easy to clean up..looking forward to cooking many more turkeys and other meats and vegetables...
Great turkey every time. Afterwards while we're waiting for the turkey to cool we throw in french fries and onion rings and they're delicious. Can't wait to use it again on Thursday. We've cooked steaks and pork tenderloins in my fryer. The only downside is I can't get my friends to stop asking me to cook.
Easy & Delicious!!
We cooked a 20lb Turkey on Thanksgiving. It turned out delicious, moist, and the flavor was wonderful. Definitely so much easier than a deep fryer. No worries about a oil/grease fire, didn't have to buy $40 worth of oil, and clean up was a breeze. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to cooking other things in it!
oil free turkey fryer is great
This is the second one I purchased. The first was for me and the second as a Christmas present for my children's grandparents. The turkeys come out crisp on the outside and oh so juicy with no oil. I use Cajun seasoning for mine and apply nonstick spray before using which makes clean up easy.
I received this smoker as a gift. I wasn't sure how well it would work. first use was 18 to 20 pound turkey. I was blown away by how well it worked. one of the best turkeys I ever had. injected turkey with sprite and seasoning, it fell off the bone. smokes very good on high heat. just be sure to soak wood chips for 2 or 3 hours. cooking times in instructions were right on. turkey was easy to take out of smoker with carrying handle included. a little awkward removing from basket but not much trouble. I reccomend this product to anyone wanting an alternative to frying.
Cooks as advertised. Finished 14 pound turkey in 2.5 hours. Very moist and tender. Didn't cook like a deep fryer turkey but more like a baked turkey.
Did not meet expectations
I had expected my turkey to be as good as a fried turkey but it did not brown very good and very little grease came out. Meat was done and somewhat moist but too greasy. Clean-up was not too bad. Storage could be a problem as it needs to be inside. Getting the turkey out was a 2 man job. Do not recommend. GC41
Cooks a 10 lb turkey in 100 minutes, a 4 lb chicken in 85 minutes? And I must cover the chicken with 6-8 pieces of bacon?? This is not healthier than an Oil Fryer. All the recipes in the book are "Roasted" recipes. No, I didn't use it, I repackaged it and it goes back to Walmart tomorrow. I purchased the Pro Turkey Fryer, same brand, and now I will be able to fry a whole chicken.
Get both deep fry and smoker results
I have used mine for the last 4 years, everyone raves about the turkey, and when I tell them it is oil less they have to go look at it to see for themselves. I have found through experience, if you really like the smokiness then replace wood chips with fresh soaked ships 1/2 way through and when the chips really get smoking plug the vent hole in the lid with a small piece of foil to lock in the smoke. I recommend putting a large piece of foil under the roaster just incase your drip pan overfills unless you are really watching and dump it before it overflows. I keep all the juice to make incredible gravy.
Brother-In-Law had a turkey cooked in an oil less frier at Thanksgiving, was very moist and tasty. He gave one to another Brother-In-Law for Christmas. His family has been very pleased, so I got one for my son. He loves using it so we can have turkey anytime I want.
It worked great! The turkey was crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside just as you said it would be. The family was used to deep fried turkey but loved the this turkey. The only complaint we have is the drip pan was to small and ran over the first time we used it
This is in no way a fryer, only a roaster. Should not be advertised as a fryer...very misleading! Ordered one, received the next day. Wanted to experiment before doing the Thanksgiving turkey, did a 6 lb. chicken. After 2 1/2 hours still wasn't done and not even close to brown or crispy! Will be sending this back and cannot imagine having to pay return shipping on an item that was so falsely advertised!
Not all that it's cracked up to be.
When I think turkey fryer, I think of juiciness inside and crispy outside. Well there was at least one of those. But really, I could've baked the bird and have had it come out that juicy. It was easy to assemble and set up. I didn't have to purchase oil. Cleanup wasn't terrible. It just didn't meet my expectations. I like my skin crispy and it just wasn't.
Very happy with it!
We've used it twice now. Love it. Turkey came out very juicy. We added some hickory wood chips the 2nd time. Liked it so much I bought my mom one for Christmas! One little thing.... the grease catcher may not be big enough, we just put a bowl under it and it caught the over flow.
I don't know how the negative reviews are rolling in? I've had my fryer for a month and done five pieces of meat and have had zero probleMs. Maybe some people are not preparing their meat right, I don't know? Trial and error will lead to Perfection with this fryer. I love it.
Turkey was very tender and juicy, does not have crispy skin like the ones fried in oil, but very good. Also made a roast in it awesome, clean up a breeze.
This cooker does a good job cooking a turkey. I gave it a 3 star because it doesn't smoke as well as I wanted. We like it well enough that we plan to keep it and do some experimenting with it.
First time I used this fryer was for Thanksgiving, when the heating element heated the turkey up to around 150 degrees the heating element blew out causing me to have to finish cooking in the oven.
