We received this product as a gift for our then 4 year old son. A few months ago a freind of ours was playing with the book, on one page a male character says "this ship stinks" but it really sounds like this u know what stinks.
Well, we knew this was going to be a silly book by the title including the word "farting" in it. So, with that in mind, if that's not something you want to acknowledge, then don't buy the book. We like the fact that you can point the reader on other pictures in the book and get phrases or sounds out of it that aren't in print. Our family really enjoys this book along with all the other Tag books we have. It's an excellent tool for learning how to read. The sound effects are great.
this book is very funny my niece loves especially tag version
I know some don't like the subject matter, but my son loves this book!!! He loves the sound effects and giggles with delight. He loves the book so much he asks that I read it on nights when we are not useing the tag reader. It is one of his favorites and his delight and excitement make it one of my favorites too!
Walter The F@rting Dog... Obviously this book is not going to be for every one. But it is definitely for my family. When my 2 year old daughter and I read this book we can not help but to laugh. This book is educational in the way of the games at the bottom of every other page, such as asking the child to find some one on the page that is mad. But also educational in teaching the child that F@RTS happen and everybody F@RTS, yes everybody. And it teaches that it is not okay to F@RT just any where, there is a time and a place for it. In my opinion it is better for my daughter to learn about certain things such as F@RTS from me and not from the television or from some friend or even from a day care. I feel that there are to many parents out there that do not want to teach their children so they allow other people and things to do the teaching for them and then they get upset when their children are not taught the way that they wanted them to be. This book is a good way for you to sit down with your child and read the book and discuss what is going on in the book and answer any questions or concerns that your child might have. Most importantly this book will make you laugh till you F@RT!
My 5 -year old grandson "loved" this book. He has a dog that shares
Walter's gas problems, so he understood the situations it caused. Also liked the fact that each character on any given page had a comment to make when touched with the Tag pen. Laughed and laughed!
This book was given to my child by a friend. I think it is rediculous that a child's book would use such a crude term. I understand the topic can be quite funny for some children and believe the author could have written it without using that crude term. I returned it to the store and got a book that did not contain words my children aren't allowed to use!
