Love these lights
I have been buying these for years. Some of mine have lasted for up to 4 years. Always try to keep extras just in case. I like the bright ones the best
Good little lights for the price!
I bought mine in store and got them home and every one of them worked right away. I have had them now for 2-3 months and they've been in heavy rain and cloudy weather. After the rain they may not work well because of the water, but I really don't mind that. On cloudy days, these lights seem to work pretty well still. I am currently buying more to align my fence with. I have a huge backyard and they give just enough light for me to see. One day I'll upgrade to a bigger lumen, but for now they work well.
An amazing product at an amazing price
I would give these 5 Stars but one of the 12 already had the battery tab pulled and only lasted a few days and a 2nd one cracked when I screwed the top back on after checking the battery. The other 10 are still going strong after 4 months, I only wish they all stayed lit from dusk to dawn, only a few do that. Still, at this price they are an amazing deal. I plan to purchase more; there is apparently 1 store that still has them in stock and they're not far. I have a mission tomorrow! I really like the fact that they're so easy to move; from backyard where they usually are to the front where they lit the way for our adorable Halloween guests and back again - no breakage at all.
Just a heads up, not all batteries were included.
I bought these lights to line my fence in my backyard. They are a beautiful warm light. I really like them. However, only 11 of the 12 lights work. One of the lights doesn't work. It didn't come with the orange tab to protect the battery from engaging prior to purchase so I took the screws out of the underside of the cap where the light is to see if I could fix it and I found the problem: no battery. This light didn't work because it did not come with a battery. The box clearly states "batteries included". This was the only one, thankfully, but that really is frustrating. I paid for 12. I expect 12 to work! It's not like I can take only one of the lights back to Walmart to exchange it. I'd have to take the whole box back which is probably what I should do.
Great if I could figure out how to keep them lit.
I thought when we got them I was gonna love them. I do love them for the first hour or maybe 2. I bought 30 and within 2 hours 2/3 of them are off. I thought maybe not enough sun so I put all of them in the direct sun all day and put them back. After 4 hours of them coming on only 2 were lit still. I guess you get what you pay for. Disheartened because they are so bright and perfect but I need them to at least stay lit for 6 hours.
I thought these would be fine to light my flower pots in my garden. I purchased 6 boxes which would give me 72 lights - 60 for my pots and 12 to use to light the edge of my flower garden (really only needed 10 but for the price, I kind of expected a couple of them would not work). Of the 72, 12 did not work and although I could not see visible damage (broken or unconnected wires, broken bulbs, misplaced batteries, etc...), I could not make them work. Essentially I paid for 6 boxes and only got the benefit of 5 boxes. For that reason, I would suggest buying an extra box if necessary to complete your design for their use just in case you end up with several that do not charge or light up. Kind of disappointed that my design is not how I wished and I could not find them at my Walmart store when I went back to purchase another box to complete my design.
What a shame.. wasted time and money
I bought 2 boxes (24 total). I placed the first set out on Tuesday night and they looked really nice. I placed the second set out Wednesday and at first they looked really nice but by the evening 4 of the second 12 were out, 2 of the first 12 were out. By 11pm when I am headed to work 2 more were out and almost ALL of them were really dull looking.
Don't waste your money
Man, how sad. Trying to be low impact AND save money... These only worked about 3-4 hrs after TWO full days of sun charge. Very sad. Tossed receipt, no refund, no joy. Sigh
Don't buy this product.
This item has gotten worse over time. Purchased first about 4 years ago and they worked fine. Purchased two years ago and they were crappy - did not last more than say 2 hours and maybe 4 of the 12 did not work at all. Purchased in store in August and put these in in November. 10 of them worked for maybe 2 hours over the first 4 days, the other two did not. After that nothing worked. Very disappointed.
Don't waste your money
even at 10 dollars, or now $7, don't waste your money. The solar lights seemed good when i first bought them and seemed bright, but now that it's been less than a week, they do not light up very bright anymore, and they also don't last more than a few hours into the night time. They are basically pointless. I wouldn't buy them again. Go somewhere else and buy higher quality. Unless you literally need them for only a few hours (total) don't bother buying them. You definitely get what you pay for.
Short battery life
I bought one of these lights in-store about five weeks ago. I make sure the solar receptors are exposed to light all day but it won't hold a charge more than four hours, then no light. I contacted the manufacturer, Westinghouse, and the email response was pretty much 'that's your problem'.
Degraded quality overtime
The first set from few years ago work better than the new ones. They have degraded in quality :-/
Better the the $ store
I bought a box of these lights last year and put them in for the winter and they all worked this year. So I bought 3 more boxes this year and only 1 light did not work.. and for less than a $ a piece . The lights give out a nice yellow glow not white.
Cheap but don't work well
These lights seem to need very bright, full sun for hours to work. After a cloudy day, they don't come on at all or just barely. I have some around my fire pit which has partial shade and they don't work even after a sunny day. I am quite disappointed. I realize they are cheap but I hoped they would at least give some light at night. I would spend more for better quality.
great lights for various reasons
great for tinkering with solar/battery/l.e.d. lights. Small enough to toss in a bug out bag. makes for great and inexpensive electronic "tea light" candles for craft projects. one caution, you get what you pay for. though they are surprisingly sturdy for a $0.97 solar tea light. cheap enough to buy a few as replacements.
Poor battery life
Bought 2 boxes of these lights and not a single one was bad. The only problem with these are the battery life. They stay on for 1-2 hours after sunset and then turn off. Had i known this before then i would have purchased better quality more expensive lights.
Very poor quality control! What I wasted in time n $ going back n forth to store, I could have paid to have electric lights hard wired. Unless you enjoy high frustration due to lights not working, missing parts, don't bother. Then when u finally retrieve the missing parts
Mainstay pathway LED lights
After 3 weeks (3) of the (12) lights stopped working. Wrote the manufacturer and they wanted me to test the batteries since the batteries are no covered under their warranty. The balance of the lights only stay lit for approximately 90 minutes. Lights are junk and I"m surprised Walmart would sell them.
7 out of 12 worked and what i mean by work is after being full sunlight all day they stay on for less than 10 mins. I had better luck with dollar store solar lights. From now on ill make sure they have on and off switch instead of pull tab. I seem to have better luck with them
They sell these individually in the stores for $.97 each. I bought 5 and 4 of the five burned less than 45 minutes on a full charge. I have bought other versions of this product that were not mainstay and was more than satisfied with their performance. These are not worthless in my opinion. All were returned for a refund.
