First, we are happy with it's size, but to correct one specification, it does not fold out to 3x the original width, but just 2x. So, it's 17-34" wide, not 17-51" 34" is fine for us, I just include that as an FYI. OK, that being said, it's really an elegant piece, nice color match for our black appliances, sturdy stools, and the main table unit is sturdy, too. The kids helped put it together in the snowstorms, so that was a good experience for them. The assembly is not too taxing. I would prefer better support for the fold out leaves, and I've seen better leaf mechanisms, but it's not too bad that way. We like how the stools store underneath. We've ordered 2 more stools. That was $150 extra, and includes shipping, a little more than I was hoping, but we wanted to get the match. The finish is nice, the wood is great. It happens to fit the dimensions of our kitchen well, providing a work/ eating area, with plenty of room to move around the sides.

Perfect table

This is a perfect table for my small house/kitchen. I used to have a beautiful antique round table with leaves but it made my house claustrophobic. After it was gone I so missed having a kitchen table to eat at with my son and company. This table is perfect. It doesn't take up very much room at all. It is so pretty, it matches my other furniture perfect and it's fun. The only down side is that it was very difficult to put together as the guide holes for the screws didn't line up for one leg. My father in law helped me drill the holes bigger and we put it together without a problem after that. Now, I love it.
