This game doesn't at first seem like it will be that good but it is awesome. I was first introduced to this game(the original version) by my son and daughter in law; my husband and I were skeptical at first but even before we finished the first game we knew we loved "the train game". Since our son and his wife will be moving soon, we both felt we needed to get our own game. It is fun to play and constantly a new challenge. I bought the Europe version for my husband for father's day and he was so thrilled with this game. The Europe version seemed a bit harder at first because of the names of the towns being unfamiliar but this game is amazing. Another great thing about this game is you can have just as much fun playing with 2, 3,4, or 5 players. It's nice to find a challenging, interesting game that makes you think, plan and compete even for just 2 players. We can't wait to but the expansion pack.
Great couple game
Wanted game my hubby and I could play together. He is a gamer and I am not. Wanted something that would itch his need for strategy games but not take all day to play. Give it two times, so you can learn the rules, and you will be hooked. Now on average 45 minute game. Better than watching tv together after kids go to bed. Spawns great conversations. Would be good with friends as well.
This is a WONDERFUL game. My son's friends call it "Ticket to Addiction" because it's so fun to play. In addition to being fun, it teaches geography. It's a bit expensive but I'm SO glad we bought this game!!!
Love it! Already have Ticket to Ride America. This is slightly different and slightly more challenging.
Grandkids ask for more.
Great concept for education and family fun. This version stands alone. I also purchased the 1910 add on to the original one which they already own. Ages are now 9-13 but they started playing this several years ago.
All my friends love this game
We play this game 4 times a week. My 13 year old loves to play. Easy game to learn.
Our whole family loves this game. It's great for both kids and adults.
I order from Walmart because they ship to the house very inexpensively and the porduct selection is very good. This game, Ticket To Ride - Europe, is fun and my husband, our teenagers and myself enjoy it regularly. The rules are easy. It says in the instructions that it only takes a few minutes to learn how to play. I completely disagree. It took us at least an hour to go through everything. But once we learned it, it was easy for us to explain how to play to others. It's better than monopoly and Risk, in that no one is eliminated early. Everyone plays until the end. It doesn't take forever to finish either. It's a great, timeless game.
I bought this game to play with my family over the Christmas holidays. It is fun and challenging and we all enjoyed it. Our children are young adults (20s) and they had a great time playing it with us "older generation". Good combination of skill and luck and the game wraps up in one evening. Fun!!
Another Great Game
We found this game through friends and we've been enjoying playing Ticket to Ride since that day. This new addition <Europe> to our Days of Wonder Ticket to Ride has been a great buy. It is a stand-alone game meaning that if you are looking to start playing this series...you can buy this board game pack, and just complete your collection later with the expansions. We have/love the <India> and <Asia> expansions. We have/love the stand-alone of: <USA> and <Nordic Countries>. Hope this was helpful and that you will soon be starting your travels around the world with Ticket-to-Ride.
This is a fun family game. It's like rummy. You collect sets of colored train car cards in order to place your trains on the board. The aim of the game is to complete tickets by placing trains along between destination x and y. You get points for completing tickets and for the size of the run you place between stations.
European ticket to ride
Game takes skill & strategy besides some luck. Can keep your interest, not boring after a few plays. Highly recommend.
A very fun game for the whole family!
This game is fun for the whole family - older grade school onward.
Our family loves to play this game together! Our 8 & 11 year old boys even love it!
My favorite version yet
I actually bought this game as a gift, but we have our own set all ready and it's my favorite of the Ticket to Ride games. It is a little more difficult to learn than the America version, but the train cards are normal size versus half sized in America, and having a few more rules makes for more variation in the game. Would also highly recommend buying the expansion for this game which includes more destination cards including the "Big Cities" cards which are the best way to really get the most points in this game.
Excellent game. Lots of fun. Basic enough young kids can play, but strategic enough for adults to enjoy.
Great game but the rules for the train stations is not real clear.
Very intriguing , challenging and enjoyable ,
We had played the game before and wanted one to be able to introduce to others. Ticket to ride Europe a bigger map and has a little more flexibility how you can try to get points. We enjoy both
Fun family game for young and old
This is an excellent game and I would recommend out to anyone who enjoys board games. It's more complex than your average family game such as monopoly, however, it is not difficult to play or learn. The only thing I would advise is that casual board gamers (especially those who aren't great at geography) to pick up the regular ticket to ride. This game it's a little more complex and the cities can be harder to find. Overall, of you like board games, you should have this or the original ticket to ride in your collection!
