My experience with VPN router
Over all if your buying the item for a NAT router it worked fine. I bought it for the advertised PPTP VPN capabilities to work with Microsoft VPN client. Something that I've had a challenge finding. Turns out this one isn't there either. After not getting it to work I downloaded and installed the most current firmware. That didn't help. I provided a detailed description of the problem I was having to Trendnet support and never heard anything back. I tried calling Trendnet and not got to a person who could help. After tries of numerous combination of PCs / routers and ISPs I was never successful at getting PPTP VPN to stay up for more than a few minutes. The issue was anytime fragmented packets were involved it lost the VPN connection. I took it back to Walmart for a refund. The Linksys RV042 with the latest firmware support PPTP VPN with no issues.
