I think if U are really trying to lower your cholestrol ,blood pressure,even diabetic levels this is the book for U. I think over taking Meds for a long period of time. U can make a drastic change in lowering your #'s,educating yourself on how to eat and what to avoid. This is why I purchased this book. I do not know if I can do it strictly long term, meaning(on going ) but I can lower my #'s and hopefully get off medication. This is my goal anyway.To be more Pro active,and knowledable in my over all health care.
My husband is type 2 diabetic and has high blood pressure. We were looking for a way of life to help him get off medication and improve our overall health. After reading Rip Esselstyn's book, it gave us the incentive to try the vegan method. We have been on the vegan way of life for only about a month and have each lost about 10 lbs so far and we are not ever hungry. The recipes in his book are excellent. Rip gives you his story, educates you on the benefits of eating a plant based diet, gives recipes, and an exercise program for beginners to advanced. He is a triathlon champion, champion swimmer, and firefighter. He exposes the myths about being a vegan. If you want to improve your health, have energy and lose weight, this book is for you.
