I researched this Tv and found that it is affordable and has almost everything I was looking for. I tried to get it on Black Friday at walmart but was unable since all of them were gone in the first 5 minutes of the store being opened. I went to Best Buy Saturday and they actually had the same exact TV (matched model number) and was selling it on Black Friday for only 1.00 more, after speaking to the sales person they were able to order it for me and would match the price 799.00. I was told that they would be getting more in soon, but the price was going up and they were not ordering anymore at the sales price after Saturday 11/29/08
and the 799.00 price was only for the Black Friday sale.
Comparing the two Samsung Tv's they are almost identical and yes it is the 20k-30k and the Hdm 1-2
other then that the quality of the picture is the same. I was told you really couldn't tell the difference between the 20K-30K contract. So which ever TV you choice you will be getting a Great product. ENJOY !
I looked online and at ads for weeks trying to get the best Tv for my money. I read several reviews about the Samsung & it seemed to have the least negative comments. It took me about 15 minutes to get it set up with Stereo Speakers, DVD and VCR. What a breeze! The picture quality is unbelievably clear and detailed. This TV is definitely worth the money. We live in the country with rabbit ears for antenna & get a great reception, even better than our old TV with the converter box. Great buy!
So I spent almost a month trying to figure out which TV to buy. Come black friday after thx giving I knew would be the best time to buy a TV. From reading reviews, and specs, and everything, the samsung and sony seemed like the best option. I went to best buy and walmart to actually see what the tv looked like and picture on it. The samsung was so much nicer than the sony so I decided to go ahead and buy it on friday. I took it home, set it up within 5 minutes and was done. I don't have hd cable yet so the analog cable obviously didn't look amazing on the tv...but then I hooked up the xbox and was totally in awe as the true HD came to life....My room is now the entertainment room...all my friends come here to watch movies or play games. The sound is pretty amazing as well for a tv..i haven't even bothered setting up my home theater system since the sound is that good.
Great picture and sound quality all around. I've hooked it up to an antenna, blue-ray player, and X-Box 360 and all provide superb 1080p viewing. Very easy set up, instructions for mounting on it's swivel base are in the middle of the users manual, a minor inconvenience. This TV was under $800 in the store. Hooked up to an antenna, it picked up several more DTV stations than my converter box with my old SDTV. At 40", this 1080p LCD doesn't look much better than a 720p around the same size (40"-42") unless you view it up close. Most people can't tell the difference on sets smaller than 42." But it's around this size that you want to look at getting a 1080p. For me, anything over 37" has to be 1080p. This set makes strange noise when you turn it off, can't figure out how to make it stop in the menu. Other than that, I love this TV. Blacks are very dark and colors are rich. They could probably look at Vizio's menu layout and take notes as the menu on this samsung has a learning curve. I tried plugging in the camcorder and found no side or front A/V jacks. Had to full the TV out to plug in.
