college kid couldn't be happier

I use this laptop for college and internet surfing and I couldn't ask for anything better. The only time it's been slow is when I have a bad wifi connection. The only thing I warn is that there is no cd drive. It's been a little different downloading programs to it but it's possible with just a thumb drive. I knew there was no cd drive before I bought it so I plan on getting a portable drive anyway. All in all...PERFECT computer. Typing on it right now :) all my friends are jealous that my laptop fits in my purse and they are lugging there giant laptops to class still. oh and by the way perfect for a college kids budget!!

Not what I expected

I did not favor this product as I have had to return it to Acer for repairs. This computer had problems from the first day I owned it. Acer did replace it and the newer one is working well. I do not know if I would recommend this computer for a novice.

    Sweet little netbook!

Bought for my wife as a Christmas gift(early). So far she loves it!.She has smaller hands, so the slightly smaller than average keyboard doesn't bother her at all. Does all the basics such as e-mail ,web browsing, well. She also has some music and some e-books on it and it runs great! Would highly recommend.

    Tiny Online Gaming?!? YES

Pros: Lightweight, crystal clear glossy screen (1280x600 max resolution), mini standard laptop-layout keyboard with Fn key and cursors; no odd-shaped or misplaced keys like Dell Mini-9, easy wireless network detection or RJ45 for 10/100 cable/DSL/network, express slot to upgrade memory or video, combo memory card reader (will not read mini-SD, Sony, or CF cards without an adapter). 160gb HD is median at $40 over the 120gb version price ($1 per gig). Weighs 2.8 lbs. Comes with a feaux leather slip cover. Slips in to a LARGE pocket (my coat's inner pocket). 1 year manufacturer's warrenty on parts only. Consumer pays shipping and/or labor. VGA output on left side. Built in 1.3mp net camera and microphone in screen bezel. Cons: Mouse buttons a...

The Best Netbook You Can Buy

Acer Aspire One is the best netbook that you can buy for the money. It has a 1GB Ram, a 160GB hard drive and a fast processor. It comes with Windows XP and has the 6 cell battery which gives you 6-10 hours of power.

    Perfect For traveling

I purchased this for my wife and she absolutely loves it (and she really dosen't care about things like this)! But this computer is her baby because it's "cute" and fits in her purse! Bottom Line: It's small, but fast, with a very bright display and the battery life is excellent. The wireless connection is as good if not stronger than any of our state- of- the- art laptops. And last but not least, Walmart 's price is Excellent and their Customer Service is Great!!!! Thanks A million for making this online purchase easy and fast. JD

    Product for all

Mini laptop easy to use and a good deal for the price. I purchased this Acer because it had the longer battery life. Have not had a chance to use online programs as of yet but everything else works great. How about some colorful skins or covers for this baby?

    Would recommend it

Easy to use. A bit of a problem at start-up but worked out ok. Screen is smaller than thought it would be. Keyboard is really easy to adapt to. Been using every day, took on business trip, worked well with local wireless networks. Only disappointment and still working on it is the inability to watch video online.

    Acer mini

The Acer mini is user friendly and extremely portable. Althogh the keyboard is slightly smaller than a regular sized laptop, it is easy to become accustomed to using the smaller keyboard. The mini is most advantageous for note taking and I would suggest purchasing a mouse because the touch pad can become annoying when attempting to scroll and navigate internet sites. The built-in microphone and web cam is an added bonus. Because it has an Intel Atom processor vs. an Intel core duo processor, it may be slower when multiple sites are pulled up.

    Good Value

Love it! Small, lightweight, easy to use. LOCK the batter on, don't forget to LOCK the battery on. if the battery is not locked and you port it around like I do by the battery you will lose it. I almost did and thank goodness it only fell on my lap, LOCK the battery on! It does not snap into place like all my other ones with the option of the lock, on this one it is a must - the lock is the snap here. Love the 2 sd slots. I bought from walmart.com and the description said it had xp pro, I have since noticed they have corrected that listing and now reads xp home, and that is exactly what I got, that was a downer but can easily be upgraded. Overall satisfied but I have had it for only a little over a week. Time will tell. I recommend when you...

    Best thing ever.

I bought this to use for on-the-go writing, whether in a car, or just on location. It's superb. The battery life is 7+ hours, and the screen isn't as tiny as you'd expect. It took me a bit to adjust to the smaller keyboard, but no longer than a day of typing on it. I'm perfectly adjusted now. I did get a wireless mouse to use, since the touchpad is tiny and kind of annoying. But that's certainly not something that detracts from it, in my opinion. It was well worth the cost. I'm definitely glad I got the 160g harddrive and the 6 cell battery. The surface does show a lot of fingerprints, but that doesn't really bother me. It boots very quickly, and hibernates just as fast. I'm definitely thrilled that I got this, and am only wondering wh...

I bought this netbook to be a school computer, as it is very portable and has almost everything I need for school. It boots up quickly, and the screen is bright and, while small, takes very little time to get used to. The keyboard is almost full-sized and takes a little more time to get used to than the screen, but does not cause me any problems. On the downside, the touch pad is a bit awkward. The left and right click buttons are too small to hit without looking, and there is no easy way to scroll down a webpage without using the arrow keys. All of these problems can be solved with an external mouse, so these complaints aren't serious. The only major setback to the Acer Aspire One is its lack of an optical drive. I miss being able to sti...

    Great PC

This PC is great. It's small and compact and goes everywhere!! I drop it in my pocketbook and take it every. It's easy to set up. It's fast!! It's just fun to use!! I would recommend this to everyone!! I turned my email service off on my phone. Couldn't see anything on the internet anyway!!! I just turn this on, plug in my modem and can surf the net, read emails and even sign on to work and take care of issues. This is a great product, you will not have any regrets!! Go get one, you will never leave home without it!!!

This has performed far better than I dreamed. I've had it for about two weeks and prefer it to my larger laptop. I'v carried it to coffee shops and libraries to use while writing. The screen is surprisingly easy to see and the keyboard feels like normal. It has responded well and I've enjoyed the portability. In fact, while sitting in my living room I reach for it rather than my larger laptop because of the size and long battery life. I highly recommend it and have found no negatives.

    Easy to move

I have a laptop from dell and is 15" heavy to carry it around. Love the Acer 8", I got it for me and my husband took it so he could used it for his work. We were able to install or upgrade to windows vista and we also, used his cell phone as a modem so he could use the internet while on the road and let me tell you this computer has been taking everything we are throughing at it. So far we love it the battery it's does last 3 hours and you do have to make sure you lack the battery, would love a more detail manual, but it ok. Good internet and video resolution, bottom line love itttttttttt

Absolutely a great little computer. MS XP is much faster then Vista, but has many of the same features. With the larger battery pack it seems to go forever between charges. Keyboard takes a bit to get used to, but with practice the smaller size is totally workable. Very pleased with it.

    Hard Drive Not Reliable

Received my first Aspire One via shipping to my apartment. Had to take back to store within one week because of a faulty hard drive. Got a second one from the Wal-Mart store, with a lesser battery, and no problems thus far. I would recommend the netbook, but please do not try and get it shipped. The hard drive easily breaks. Better yet, wait for a SSD version with better memory.

    nice netbook

I like this netbook. It was exactly as advertised. I had read other reviews that complained about the touchpad but found no problem with mine. The only problem I've had was the wireless connectivity did not work right while on battery power but worked fine with the AC adapter. Problem was fixed easily by upgrading the wireless adapter driver. Well satisfied with the netbook.

    Small and compact

This netbook is very small and takes some getting used to as far as the space bar goes. I have had mine for a few weeks and have used it often. The only problem i've had is that when I close the netbook and reopen it, the screen won't come back up unless I shut it down then bring it back up. I'm going to return it for another one. I like the fact that it is small enough that I can put it in my purse and take it anywhere.
