Does what it claims to do
This doesn't fix your problem long term, but within a day I had less pain. In 3 days inflammation was almost gone. I'm still using it and ordered more just to keep on hand if I have issues in the future. It is supposed to ease the pain and soften the nail so you can lift it or cut it out. After 5 days the nail is slightly softer, but I'm giving it another 2 days before I'll try to cut it out. If you're in pain and don't want to see a doctor, this is a great option.
IT WORKS ! !
This stuff really WORKS ! ! I have been going to get a pedicure for over a year and the ingrown toenails were still there. After using this for about 3 weeks,my skin and my toenails are soft enough to pull up with a nail tool and I'm able to get to the ingrown part cut with the tonail clippers . It is kinda "stinky",but it's worth the smell to get them removed.. I'm still using it to get as much as I possibly can. I highly recommend this to anyone who has ingrown tonail problems ! !
Relieves the pain!
Have used this product (on and off) for years. It allows me over the course of 3 to 5 days to treat my ingrown toenail and eventually to remove the problem part of the nail; not a permanent fix, but takes care of the problem for four to seven months, avoiding a trip to a doctor.
Excellent pain killer for ingrown toe nails.
When I originally purchased this, I was looking for a different brand, Outgro. So, I picked this up and thought I would give this a try. It's more of a gel, so you don't use as much when applying. Suprisingly it almost stops the pain as soon as you apply it on.
First time in years, my big toe doesn't hurt!
I love to walk, but it was becoming so painful because of an ingrown toenail on one foot, that I sometimes wanted to take off my shoes and walk barefoot. I happened to see the Dr. Scholl's product in a drugstore and bought it. I followed the simple directions, and after about three days, I was able to push away the skin and do a little trimming. I did the entire 6-day treatment, did some more trimming and cleaning, and now can walk without any pain, first time in a couple of years. Ignore the sulfur "perfume" It's working!
Only brand I use because it always works. Recommend it to anyone who asks.
the only product that works for toenail relief that you can get over the counter that I know of. Hard to find, but well worth the search. Used it for years.
Ready help may ingrown toenail
Works as directed
apply as directed - i used for 4 days - it softened up the nail to be cut away from skin...which relieved the pain...
Not as good 7as Outgro!
Well Outgro helped me so much more. Outgro relieved the pain completey so I could work the ingrown toenail out. This dr scholls gel doesnt help as much with the pain and it STINKS!! Smells like dookie, literally. I would not recommend product.
If I could rate 0 stars, I would.
If I could rate this product 0 stars, I would! I've been using exactly as directed for 3 days, and it's done absolutely nothing to make my ingrowns better- if anything it has made them soooooo much worse! Seconds after applying the cushion, gel, and bandage, my toes underwent waves of excruciating pain- burning pains that made me double over and have to force myself to take deep breaths. I give up on using it. I haven't noticed any form of improvement since I started using it, and the pain is just too much to bear when I do. I'll definitely be returning for a refund and looking for a new method of treatment!
Double Big toe Nails Trouble...
It killed the pain right away...it really works...
In grown nail help
Worked great to help with pain and then to be able to file down. Came earlier than promised too.
Didn't work as well as expected.
Worked for me
Worked as advertised. Won't take away an ingrown toenail, but after using for about 3-4 days the pain is gone.
difficult for an elderly person to use unassisted
Purchased for my elderly mother...application procedure slightly complex, difficult for her to use without assistance.
DR. SCHOLLS INGROWN TOENAIL
FOR THE LAST 14 MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE SAME TOENAIL REMOVED TWICE. WHEN IT LOOKED LIKE IT WOULD HAPPEN FOR THE THIRD TIME, I HAPPENED TO BE IN WALMART AND SAW THE DR. SCHOLL'S INGROWN TOENAIL PRODUCT AND DECIDED TO TRY IT FIRST. AFTER THE FIRST APPLICATION, I FELT PAIN RELIEF. IT IS NOW THE 5TH APPLICATION AND I CAN TRIM THE NAIL WITH OUT ANY PAIN. TRY IT BEFORE SCHEDULING THAT APPOINTMENT FOR TOENAIL REMOVAL.
It works !!
I recently had my first ingrown toenail. The pain was excruciating ! A friend told me about this product that would help ease the pain at Wal-mart. At first I thought the price was a little high for such a small tube but I had to have some relief at whatever the cost. Within ten minutes of applying it the pain was almost completely gone. It only takes a very small amount & plenty for repeated applications. It is so worth the money !!!
ABSOLUTELY DOES A EXCELLENT job...
I had a ingrown big toenail, the pain was unbearable, and it started on Friday . Couldn't get to a Dr. so started looking up and researching over the counter products. Found Dr. Scholl's product, read the reviews (not just on Walmart) and picked up Dr. Scholl's Ingrown Toenail Relief. Oh My Gosh, this product is amazing, I felt better within hours, however as instructed I used the whole package up, and my toe is 110 % better. There is nothing negative I can say about this product. It does everything it says and more. If your a klutz like me you might need someone to help you apply , its a 3 part process, bandage, medicine, and another bandage 2 times a day. I highly recommend Dr. Scholl's products :)
Be patient this does work!
First let me say that the primary ingredient is a form of sulfur. Sulfur smells like rotten eggs. It's not a bad batch just the nature of the chemical. It does smell awful! It's basically a topical acid that softens even the hardest nail. I often use it and after using it 1-2 times per day for 4 days (keep the area bandaged) it softens the rock hard nail so you can get to the ingrown nail segment and cut it out. I have used it on swollen, red, extremely painful areas and it works every time. It somehow reduces the swelling so it's a lot less painful to touch when you decide to trim the offending nail. It's important the gel reaches the ingrown area so it may hurt when applying but relief will come. It stings sometimes, too. I will also soak the foot in warm water before I apply so it's easier to touch the sore toe. I sometimes use it as a preventative measure too for the big toes since these are the worst offenders and the most painful. As for the bad smell, keep the toe covered with bandaids and wear thick socks and shoes. It made my car smell bad even doing all that but I knew it was working. I refuse to pay for toenail removal since everyone I know puts out so much money only for it ingrow again a year later. Not to mention how gross that looks. I wear open toe shoes year round. The biggest helper is preventive maintenance on your toenails. The better care I take trimming and soaking the less issues I have. As a mom I would not use this on kids due to it being a chemical.
