I tried this because my sister had some left over from when she was away at college. Personally, I prefer this over the boxed Kraft Mac and Cheese (that is made on a stove).
I am quite the picky eater, so I was pleasantly surprised that the noodles weren't 'gummy' at all.
I recommend that if you want to make only one packet, to use less than the 2/3 cup of water the box says to use. I tried making a single packet of macaroni that way and there was a lot of water left over, making the sauce really soupy. I can't give a specific amount of water to use, as I have not tried any other amount myself.
