I always purchase the "insurance" as I call it, they call it "product warranty". The extra peace of mind is paid for 10 times over. If I ever have a problem or something goes wrong, no need to try and find my original receipt from who knows how long ago, or remember when or where I bought the item, nothing! Call them up, tell them the problem, give them my name and phone number and ta-da..."Thank you Mrs. Smith, I see you have purchased the product warranty so just visit you local store and the clerk at the Customer Service counter will be able to assist you with your replacement (on small items), or if it is a large item purchase, all my info is handled over the phone by the same person who answered originally...no passing me back and forth or over to that department or you need to call this number. Nope, problem solved, and it makes the extra few buck purchasing the warranty to make it all worth while. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH SERVICE ON AN ITEM WHICH HAS THE WAL-MART WARRANTY.
