I use a wireless adapter for my desktop, it has detachable antennas( hawkins tech 150 n usb) attached this attenna and went from 35% and 11 mbps to 55% and 39 mbps.. Excellent attenna, and im picking up the signal from 4 houses down or so..
It works. Has a four foot cable.
No noticeable boost in signal strength from standards antenna on my Verizon supplied Actiontec router. No value for the money spent. Disappointed
This antenna made no improvements over current 4dBi omni-directional antenna. Over an hour spent on the phone with Hawking's technical support staff who are hard to understand - the determined my antenna to be defective. Spent $5 on a 5dBi antenna and saw decent gains over my previous 4dBi antenna. Defective? Maybe but I wasn't wasting my time and money on the same product again to find out for sure. Walmart was great at refunding me the full purchase price plus shipping! A++ to Walmart.com!
I used this in the same place as my regular 2dBi antenna,
and it was underperforming.
I got this to go with my Hawking USB wifi range extender. I have set it up here at home and the signal strength with the laptop wifi turned on shows low signal strength for neighbors signal. When I connect this new antenna the signal strength for the same wifi signals is substantially higher. I will take this on trips to Latin America where I stay in hotels that have a weak signal. It should help to improve signal strength so I can work without interruption. Should have better connection to Skype or similar services.
