I gave this bed 5 stars because I had no issues with it what so ever from purchase to my kid climbing into it, and was happy with the $250 price. Shipping was very quick, even tho at purchase time, shipping was to be several days out. I actually purchased two of these a week apart (one in each color). I wanted to get one installed first before putting money into a second. The pieces arrive in one large, heavy box, but are shipped very securely. Lots of padding and protective wrap. Nothing was slid around inside and the corners weren't damaged in shipment, like some large heavy boxes get. I opened the box on the porch and took the pieces upstairs individually. Goes together in 45mins-1hr, if you stay on task. Clear instructions and every piece has a letter sticker on it for identification, which are located on the backside of the piece. Just remember the "fancy" side is the OUTSIDE, so put stickers to the inside where the mattress would lay. Also, DON'T WASTE TIME tightening down every bolt as you put it in. WAIT to tighten until it's time for the next page. Just get the bolt started and lightly secured with the nut, because the next piece can't fit in if you have the previous one already tight! Had the hardware and allen wrench. I recommend a cordless phillips screwdriver for the bed slats. You could lose time there if you had to hand tighten those...just zap them in with an electric one. I built the first half or more of it laying flat on the floor, and then stood it up. It's tall, but it cleared the ceiling fan light on the tilt. It is a loft bed, so it's not solid as a rock, but I wasn't really expecting it to be. I just didn't want it to sway. 165lb weight limit, and I've told the kids NO swinging from the underside! I climb up there to make the bed, and it does wiggle, but overall it's not a concern. A few metal "L" brackets would secure it if it got to be an issue.
