Installation method needs improvement

They look great but new installation does not work well. I cant get the hook over the plastic installation plate. Is there some trick to this? This is new construction and the builder installed one in the bathroom, but it is loose. This why I decided to install the rest myself.

The Moen Eva Brushed Nickel Single Robe Hook uses the Moen Pro-Fit mounting system. To remove this product to tighten the base this rest on, you will need a small flathead screwdriver to push up into the small opening at the bottom of the base, push the screwdriver towards the wall, and with your free hand you will need to pull the base away from the wall (you will be pushing the screwdriver at the same time you pull the base away). Once the hook is removed, please tighten the screw located in the center of the Pro-Fit mounting system. If you need further assistance, please contact Moen directly at 800-289-6636. Instructions awful, product beautiful

The hook is beautiful but they have a new built-in installation for drywall included with the hook. This is unlike anything commonly used for drywall installation and there are no images, drawings provided to id the parts in the instructions. There on no Moen or YouTube videos available. YUCK!
