Smooth writing, great quality

Teachers always specifically ask for these pencils because they write smoother and darker than other no.2 pencils. That being said, they are prohibitively expensive for many parents who live paycheck to paycheck when there ARE cheaper, just as smooth writing and darker than lead, options. Do I recommend them if you have the money? Yes. Should public school teachers ask their students' parents to purchase these?
