Great price for a decent rod and reel! This is the way to go when teaching your kids how to fish. If the rod or reel breaks you are not out a whole lot. None of mine have broken, but it is inevitable. So far, these are very easy for kids to learn on and make fishing that much more enjoyable.

Honestly, these are amazing little fishing combos. While not high-end equipment, they are amazing for new anglers... both kids and adults. They function so easily; add a lure of choice and go. This are great beginners fishing rods. I bought 3 for my children for this Easter. I was expecting that I would have to replace the line immediately but it turns out that they are spooled with OK line and that wasn't necessary. The drags are good and the action on the rod is good as well. I frequently was the one casting and caught a couple fish on them and they performed way above my expectation for a cheap rod/reel combo.
