Genuine Brother means it works every time. I've tried the cheap knockoffs and let's just say they are problematic. So just buy the genuine to avoid any problems. Full disclosure: I am getting $5 credit for this review from Walmart, but it is genuine as well. I think reviewers should get a little bit for their time as long as it is genuine and helpful to others.
