THIS game is great. BUT, in this new version, they just have a little squeeze plastic toy that sounds like a soft, quiet dog toy that you press when someone says the wrong words they're not supposed to say - I'm used to the old battery powered X noise. So now we just ditch the little yellow plastic thing and say EHHHHHH really loud for the X noise. Rest of the game is fine!

Taboo is one of those games that never really gets old, and this version is just as fun as ever. The rules are simple, but once the timer starts, things get chaotic in the best way. Trying to explain a word without saying any of the obvious clues is way harder than it sounds, and it usually ends with everyone yelling, laughing, and panicking at the same time. I really like that the cards feel updated. A lot of the words are tied to pop culture and current trends, so it doesn't feel dated or boring. With so many cards and guess words, you can play multiple rounds without things feeling repetitive. I used to play this when I was growing! I am so glad they still make it. It's great for groups. This is one of those games that works just as well for family game night as it does for parties with friends. Everyone is super engaged and laughing really. Another nice bonus is how portable it is. You can easily throw it in a bag and use the online timer and buzzer if you don't want to bring everything with you. We take it in a small bag to our friends for game night. Overall, it's loud, fast, and hilarious — perfect if you want a game that gets everyone involved and laughing pretty much right away.
