Overall, it was a great buy.

128 GB USB thumbdrive works fine and has a high transfer rate with USB 3.0. I used it for making a bootable media for Windows 11 reinstallation (32 GB) and created a second partition (84 GB) out of the unused space to store backups of personal data, drivers, and software installs. Works great for what I use it for.

generous capacity

Having terminally abused several thumb drives by carrying them in my pocket every day, I appreciate the fact that the USB connection of the ONN 128-gigabyte thumb drive can be easily retracted into the body of the device. I was curious about the transfer speed and copied a lot of files from a Windows PC to the USB drive. In just over 4 minutes a total of 2,551 files (mostly .JPG photos and small number of .MP4 videos) were copied. The speed at which individual photos on the USB drive were subsequently opened was fantastic, really fast. Then on a Chromebook with USB 3 ports, a single 700-MB archive file was copied to the thumb drive in about 45 seconds. The speed at which files can be transferred to, or from, the 128-GB drive seems very good to me. The 128-GB capacity will easily allow me to keep critical files on multiple devices backed up. You can never have enough backups, and I find myself working on three different computers during the week. The drive appears to be formatted using the exFAT method which "apparently" won't accept a single file larger than about 4 gigabytes. I experienced this as I tried to copy a 30-GB backup archive from my main PC, but Windows indicated the target drive has limitations.
