About This Item
Nice hiking shoes
I've had these shoes about a month or so and I'm very happy with them. They have a fairly aggressive tread pattern and are quite comfortable. FYI the "chocolate chip" color choice is not nearly as dark as is shown on the website. I wear size 14 M which I ordered and they fit well.
Hard soles, don't bend easily. Sides are a little high, hit ankles. Run a little large. Took a little longer to arrive than I thought it should. Sat for 30 hours after tag was generated before it began moving in shipping. If you order shoes, be prepared to be flooded with emails, several a day!!
Wide didn't feel that wide
Nevados appear to be a solid, well padded hiking shoe. I ordered them because they were available in a wide. However, they felt narrower and shorter in length than my current shoes by Keen. Also they are pretty heavy 23 3/8 oz. per shoe at size 14 wide. My current shoes are 15 1/2 oz. Fit was the issue for me.
Good design, poor quality
Bought these last year (June 2018) for light hiking and walks about town; 1 to 3 miles a week. Put them away for winter because they aren't waterproof and having had surgery in winter I was not able to wear these again until July 2019. After maybe 10 miles of use the tops are separating from the soles. Even considering the the low price I expect more miles before they fall apart. I do not recommend this brand of shoe.
These shoes do not last long
I bought these shoes late March 2018, and by early August 2018, the fronts had come apart like clown shoes. Albeit I got them at a great price ($28 to my door) so I guess that's not too bad (2 miles per day x 130 days = 260 miles) that's not a bad investment at 11 cents per mile. At current price of $40+, would not be however.
