I have had this only about 10 days and have really enjoyed it. It came with everything that you need including a case, usb cord, battery and dc charger. I think this would be excellent for teenagers who want e-readers but can't afford the pricey brand names. I am very satisfied.

Great E-reader at great price
Best buy I have ever made.
It will not do kindle, but you can simply convert kindle to epub and then read anythiing offered on th net. Plus side = It has a bigger viewing screen than Kindle. Plus you can go on the net and research anything = like I searched for elephant pictures. Plus you can do e-mail but it is slow at that. Minus side = Must be recharged after heavy use on the internet. It pulls a lot of battery but worth it.
I have a Nook Color and was buying this for hubby and sister-in-law. Liked it enough that I bought one for myself. It is a little slower to respond but I like the way you can put authors into folders with series and numerical order - something I cannot do on my Nook. Books can be side-loaded from computer. The only trouble I had was not understanding how and when to use the touchpad - even on my notebook I use a mouse. Once I realized you need to scroll down the menus - piece of cake! Yes, I heartily recommend this for a first reader to anyone not sure if they will like ereaders. Definitely not sorry to have purchased. If you have trouble working it, just take it back to Walmart and let them show you what to do - you really can't beat the cost! Clips can be tightened up a bit to hold the reader in the cover better.
EXCELLENT FOR KIDS & AVID READERS
I purchased 4 of these and they are really great for the kids to help wit reading. I love the verbal reading when the kids need it! Nice picture and very good quality!
I've read many of the other reviews. I recommend definitely reviewing the manual before you use the ereader. Like most tech this system has some proprietary designs and so you can find that it does not work, when it actually works just fine. Very versatile device. Does everything. Wifi, does work, but quite slow as mentioned in other reviews. It has a small processer, so even with the browser installed its a bit clunky. Works quite well.
Best to use this item as a simple reader.
While I am happy enough with this reader as it goes, (all I wanted was a reasonably priced reader) I get tired of all these new gadgets claiming to do everything but the laundry. I like to read books, that's all. The music, video, pictures internet, etc etc I don't even need. I will admit that I tried out the web browser feature and found it way too slow and clunky to use but hey, that's why I have a desk top and a laptop for. I can now use this light weight little reader in the ...ahem reading room and that was all I wanted. Perfect!
You can not beat $29!
I purchased this item for my child for Christmas. But I did open the box and charge the unit to make sure that it worked. Since I had read so many negative reviews about this product not turning on out of the box. My husband and I played with it for a little while to learn how to use it. I must admit the directions were very confusing and not very detailed. But once we figured out the square in the middle of the left and right buttons was the mouse pad, our thoughts about this product greatly improved. We were able to read the books. The print was large enough to see clearly. When you rotate the unit you can read more of the text from a page when held in the vertical position, than the horizontal position. Many of the free books are famous books that you had to read in school. I was impressed with the books that were included free on the unit. I could connect to the internet. Each time I would turn the unit off and back on, I would have to reconnect to the wireless router. But the password for the router was saved, so connecting to the internet was easy. Once I connected to the internet, the page said that the version that was in use is about to expire. This concerns me a little, but I will not worry about it until it will no longer connect to the internet. Since you can not upgrade the internet browser on this unit. The page loaded a little slow when compared to what people are used to with a brand new device. But you could connect and browse with no problem. We could not stream any videos from YouTube to this device because there is no flash player, but my child has a computer if he wants to stream videos, so this was not a deal breaker for me. My husband and I added a two videos that we own to a SD card to see if the video player worked. One worked and the other did not work. But my husband will convert any videos that my child wants to keep on this unit to the correct format, so that they will play. I did not download any music to try out the music player, but the sound from the video was just fine for my child’s needs. We bought a 16GB SD card to add movies, music and books to. I know that is not a lot of space. But we will be able to download a few movies and a few of my child’s favorite television shows that he will be able to watch if he is away from his computer. Over all I would say that what this device does you can not beat the price. I paid $29 for this product and I can connect to the internet, watch videos and listen to audio that are stored on a SD card or the unit, and read books. I am sure in a few years we will upgrade this device and find my child a better device that gives him a few more options for use (one that will allow games to be played on it). If this product is still working when we replace it, I will keep it for myself or hand it down to my mother to read books from.
This is a decent ebook reader
I paid $40, a good price for what I got. It comes with a smooth leather cover that can be used as a reader stand too, no external hardware, has a magnetic closure. As an ebook reader it's nice with a matte (not shiny) texture color screen and I can see read indoors and outdoors. Included are four font types and sizes that should suit most, in Portrait and Landscape view. There is text to speech, works well on the books I tried. A bookmark can be set for a page reminder, whereas more expensive readers have the capability of magically recalling the last viewed page. There is a scroll pad you can use instead of keys for page turns but this device doesn't have auto page turns. It also doesn't power-down automatically to conserve. The unit comes with decent user guide, power cord and USB cable. The manual recommended a full four-hour charge prior to use. Since I didn't charge as recommeded initially my first hour of use was erratic. There is 64mb of RAM and the OS is Linux 2.6.24. It took seconds to connect to Internet using WiFi in seconds. But the Internet experience is very slow, pages load slowly, so 64mb is barely adequate. Youtube will not load with this device. Other websites renderered slowly and would freeze often. I was unable to upgrade the webkit browser. The Internet only loads in Portrait not Landscape so you have to scroll left and right. The Video player is inadequate, not enough memory, pauses a lot. Music Player is the feature I haven't tried because I think I know it won't be good. So, I'm an avid ebook reader and this device is adequate, for a good price, and I will keep it.
Works as an e-reader, don't buy for wi-fi though
Review is a moot point, I suppose, as the company is out of business, but here goes anyway: this is a bit hard to figure out at first, but when you do figure it out, loads books pretty easily. You can not expect to download directly as the internet speed on this is half the speed of dial-up, I'm pretty sure. It is easy to load books onto from your pc, which is what I did. Rather than try to figure out that crazy pdf reader that it is recommended you use, I used calibre which worked great. Couldn't figure out how to use the adobe reader so gave up. Also, this was supposed to come loaded with 150 free books which it did not. No big as I understand the books were not anything worth reading anyway, just saying... don't expect them. I suspect we got a reader that was returned and reset which would have erased books from memory. For $29 plus a couple bucks shipping, i guess I can't complain. Bought this for my mom who loves it, and if all you are doing is reading on it then this is the thing for you. No apps, no games, not a touch screen, internet speed so slow it is not worth having on the device, average battery life. The only thing this is good for is reading (and honestly, for that price, your'e getting a pretty good deal). do not expect more.
I returned it
I returned it after a week of trying to 'like' it. Very cheaply made, previous downloaded books are not for your average person. I am an avid book reader and it was a difficult product to be able to download books. They give u a site to do it and the books cost between 10 and 25 dollars..not a good deal
