My husband has wanted a Roomba for many years, but I never thought they would be helpful for us until we moved to a house with hardwood and tile floors. We also have a toddler and an elementary school aged child as well as two cats, so there is always crumbs, dirt, and cat hair all over the floors. Since I sweep or vacuum every day, I thought I would try out this Roomba. At first I was skeptical of its ability to clean properly given the relatively small brushes. However, I was really impressed with how well it cleaned up the cracker crumbs on the area rug. We have steps going down to our foyer, and it sensed the steps and cleaned right to the edge. It needed just a 3 hour charge before it was ready to start cleaning. I also like that you can set up the docking station in a corner of the house, and the Roomba automatically returns to dock once it has swept the whole floor. We left it running in the living room yesterday while we went out for dinner, and when we came back, the floor was all swept and looked great, and the Roomba was back charging in its dock. It is really very user friendly, and it even has the option to set up a cleaning schedule. This is super helpful for those with pets in the house. Overall, I recommend it for busy families, and it would probably be really great for older people who may find traditional vacuums too heavy.

I couldn't wait to charge the battery and try it out, it didn't take long to find a good place to set the docking station. The first time I used it I had to occasionally see where it was at, it got lost in the bathroom so I will shut the bathroom door. There are two rugs I have to remove but I have a large area rug in the dining area that it will go over, it will not move on regular carpet.
You can purchase a virtual wall barrier that keeps it in the areas you only want it in. It will stop if it hits an object that it gets caught in. I set the schedule and it took an hour to run the cycle and it docked itself back on the docking station, I would like to see that when it happens, it is cool!
The instructions are easy no lengthy pages. It gets under furniture and that was a real convenience. I am glad I have one of my own, after it's done with it's job I can damp mop and I have clean floors. The floors will stay cleaner longer in between the more thorough mop-pings and it will be easier to get the floor ready for more thorough mop-pings. It gets very close to the edges and under places that regular sweeping can't do as effective a job.
Emptying the bin and cleaning the filter can all be done in one easy step. This is the easiest and best way for sweeping and keeping clean hardwood floors.
I was pleasantly surprised with the Roomba 675. My apartment is large, has multiple rooms with sharp corners that are both wood and carpeted rooms. The roomba navigated my apartment with ease. I was surprised with how well the Roomba is at cleaning pet hair. As a dog mom, I vacuum all the time, so this is very helpful to make sure my apartment stays as fur free as possible. I am a crazy dog mom, so I posted a funny video of my Chocolate lab and the Roomba meeting for the first time. I posted this on my dogs Instagram account (haha) and iRobot both commented on his video and sent a direct message! So that was pretty awesome. Attached is the comment from iRobot! Ovedall, pleasantly surprised with the Roomba 675! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
GREAT WORKING ROBOT VACUUM TO DO THE WORK FOR YOU!
This small black robot vacuum did an amazing job picking up lots of tracked cat litter, hairs, dust, etc., in about 20 minutes, in my 100 square foot bedroom rug area. After charging a few hours more it was all set to clean rest of house. Took about an hour for the Roomba to vacuum kitchen, dining, living room 8x10 rugs, bare floor, my son's bedroom, and bathroom very well. The side brush took off much dust from baseboards but also took off some white paint. Didn't see any nicks and white paint came off robot easily. Dirt cup holds about a cups worth, and sensors were quite dusty when done, so need to wipe off with clean dry cloth, and clean brushes after each use, so it knows where to go next time :-) Make sure you notify all family members at home when using this, because even though it's not as loud as the bigger uprights, one of our family members almost tripped and stepped on, because it made an unexpected turn, from living room back to kitchen. The super powered sensors make it spin all over looking for dirt, and went back to clean each room 3 times! For now I will use in my room, but keep in area so my cats won't rest their heads on the clean button to start, and wake me up again. Manual also says to not put anything on top of robot because it could mess up the sensors. I would definitely recommend and thank God for newer technology :-)
Great value for the price!
This is our first roomba. I bought it as a gift for my wife who was getting annoyed with having to vacuum everyday because of all the dog hair (you understand if you have a German Shepherd). The app is easy to set up and it has no issues connecting to our wi-if network. We used the app to set up a schedule for it to clean everyday at 11:30am. It's a little loud when it's vacuuming in the same room, but nowhere near as loud as our actual vacuum cleaner. It will run for 45-90 minutes each day on its own and it always finds a good amount of dirt/dust/hair/etc to pick up because the bin is always full (my wife empties it everyday). That being said, the storage bin is a little small, so I'd recommend emptying it everyday or at most every other day. We love it! We notice A LOT less hair around the apartment. Now, it doesn't pick up everything. It has an issue with grabbing the big balls of fur (which we call tumbleweeds), but it has no issue with the smaller stuff. But, keep in mind that we have all tile floors and no carpet in our apartment, so I don't know how well it works on carpet. But it works great on hard wood and tile flooring! The one problem I've had with it is that it sometimes can't find its dock and its battery will die in another room. Then, my wife will go pick it up and place it on its dock to charge. It is supposed to use a sensor to find its dock, but I think it's having a hard time finding it in our apartment. Our apartment is very small with tight corners, so maybe that's why. And when I say “sometimes,” I mean like once a week. Another thing is that it cleans randomly, meaning it continues in a straight line until it bumps into something. Then it turns in a different direction, goes in a straight line until it bumps into something else, and rinse repeat. But we purchased it for only $200 on Black Friday, so it's a great value for the price. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Definitely worth it for a pet owner who doesn't have time to vacuum everyday and is living on a budget.
The slicker picker- upper
I have dark hardwoods in half of my house which show every crumb and hair ( and I have 3 kids that create piles of crumbs many times a day). The iRoomba614 can clean them up letting me do another needed chore. The smaller the area, the better the clean. The scheduled clean you can set up on your phone works- but be aware that it will set off motion detectors if you have a security system that uses them! I have used it on the carpet and while it doesn't deep clean the carpet like a heavy duty vacuum, the carpet fuzz, lint, debris gets picked up with nice lines left telling you it was vacuumed. They sent me a used one!
Works good so far, my only complaint is that they sent me a used one! It came with scratches on it and when I downloaded the app it said in its history it's had 8 cleaning jobs when I only did 1! Very disappointed with that because I didn't pay for a used product I paid for a new one!
