Happy Little Robot
This is a game changer for those with pet hair problems. I have three animals and all hardwood floors so even sweeping every day wasn't enough to keep the hair under control. I was able to set this little robot up and get it charging within ten minutes of opening the box. I used the app to set a cleaning schedule and the very next morning it got to it. It was fun to listen to the little guy zoom around bumping into things while he learned the layout and I could see a difference in the amount of stuff on the floor after the first day. It has been a week now, and it's like I've always had pristine floors. I have also noticed a decrease in the amount of dust that settles on the furniture so there are direct AND indirect benefits from this purchase. 5 stars, no regrets, 100% would buy again.
I was pleasantly surprised with the Roomba 675. My apartment is large, has multiple rooms with sharp corners that are both wood and carpeted rooms. The roomba navigated my apartment with ease. I was surprised with how well the Roomba is at cleaning pet hair. As a dog mom, I vacuum all the time, so this is very helpful to make sure my apartment stays as fur free as possible. I am a crazy dog mom, so I posted a funny video of my Chocolate lab and the Roomba meeting for the first time. I posted this on my dogs Instagram account (haha) and iRobot both commented on his video and sent a direct message! So that was pretty awesome. Attached is the comment from iRobot! Ovedall, pleasantly surprised with the Roomba 675! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Great value for the price!
This is our first roomba. I bought it as a gift for my wife who was getting annoyed with having to vacuum everyday because of all the dog hair (you understand if you have a German Shepherd). The app is easy to set up and it has no issues connecting to our wi-if network. We used the app to set up a schedule for it to clean everyday at 11:30am. It's a little loud when it's vacuuming in the same room, but nowhere near as loud as our actual vacuum cleaner. It will run for 45-90 minutes each day on its own and it always finds a good amount of dirt/dust/hair/etc to pick up because the bin is always full (my wife empties it everyday). That being said, the storage bin is a little small, so I'd recommend emptying it everyday or at most every other day. We love it! We notice A LOT less hair around the apartment. Now, it doesn't pick up everything. It has an issue with grabbing the big balls of fur (which we call tumbleweeds), but it has no issue with the smaller stuff. But, keep in mind that we have all tile floors and no carpet in our apartment, so I don't know how well it works on carpet. But it works great on hard wood and tile flooring! The one problem I've had with it is that it sometimes can't find its dock and its battery will die in another room. Then, my wife will go pick it up and place it on its dock to charge. It is supposed to use a sensor to find its dock, but I think it's having a hard time finding it in our apartment. Our apartment is very small with tight corners, so maybe that's why. And when I say “sometimes,” I mean like once a week. Another thing is that it cleans randomly, meaning it continues in a straight line until it bumps into something. Then it turns in a different direction, goes in a straight line until it bumps into something else, and rinse repeat. But we purchased it for only $200 on Black Friday, so it's a great value for the price. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Definitely worth it for a pet owner who doesn't have time to vacuum everyday and is living on a budget.
Love our 'Dusty" Roomba
We love our new friend "Dusty" ! This is not a replacement for weekly cleaning, but it is great to go behind us and our two cats. We have it set up to clean each day. We have set up several little tests to see which items he could pick up and so far has passed them all. example kitty litter. "Dusty" is set up on a random patter, and sometimes cleans the same spot several times, not sure why. We only use him on tile floors. He has been known to get stuck behind a bathroom door, so we use a door stop if we want that room done. Our one concern is with the app and it might only be user error, only one person can connect to the app and tell "Dusty" what to clean, without having to go back through the set up mode. I would recommend, a little pricey, but worth it. Yes I videoed the cats reaction and one has over 40K views. Cats are no longer bothered by it.
The slicker picker- upper
I have dark hardwoods in half of my house which show every crumb and hair ( and I have 3 kids that create piles of crumbs many times a day). The iRoomba614 can clean them up letting me do another needed chore. The smaller the area, the better the clean. The scheduled clean you can set up on your phone works- but be aware that it will set off motion detectors if you have a security system that uses them! I have used it on the carpet and while it doesn't deep clean the carpet like a heavy duty vacuum, the carpet fuzz, lint, debris gets picked up with nice lines left telling you it was vacuumed. If you have the money for the bigger one ...
Picks up dirt and hair you can't even see! pretty rough though ..slams into furniture and walls only have had it for a week and it look likes it has been through the ring. Not as quiet as I expected. Also its pretty dumb. does not remember places it has already cleaned just sorta goes rogue
Not the best. Probably because of price.
I've had this Roomba for 9 months. It's a basic entry-level (and at the time cheapest) Roomba. Last month the side brush kept falling off and then couldn't be screwed back in. The receptacle in the Roomba is stripped and no screws will hold it in. Bangs into everything which can cause damage to furniture such as chips and scrapes. As a result, the Roomba very quickly started to look damaged with scrapes and dents. Motor is very loud. Roomba gets up a lost of dirt/hair but not all. You need to run the Roomba several times in a day to clean the entire area. I'm contemplating getting a newer model next year to hopefully eliminate some of these problems.
A complete mess! The AC cord would not stay in the charger, the cleaner (with what charge it already had) would just go in crazy circles, then head for the front door and get stuck on the doorsill. I have tried to get a return authorization and mailing label from Walmart with absolutely no luck! The vacuum is sitting in a box in the bedroom while, in the meantime, I ordered another brand from Amazon and it works beautifully.
